    Things that annoy me.....

Brand new virgin beer drinkers who only drink and consume the hype. It’s Pokémon and trading cards for adults. How do you know what you’re having is worthy if you’ve never had some shelfies?

They’re driving market trends and it’s annoying.

Lots of annoying posts... I'll keep mine simple, I get annoyed when the package doesn't have the ABV of its contents. Shit, that should be straight up illegal.

How can you say something is flawed if it's inherent to the style? lol

relatively new member to the beer community here, has it always been the case where local craft breweries push out new beers every other week? on one hand its great because i like to try new things. On the other hand it kinda sucks b/c if I really enjoy one of them its gone relatively quickly and replaced by another new release.

Anyone that likes this post needs to learn how to respect beer culture in general. Liking NE IPAs does not make one not a "real beer lover". That is elitist, sanctimonious and, of course, flat out wrong.

I like NE IPAs. I also like WC IPAs. And lagers, and sours, and stouts, etc, etc, etc. If someone doesn't like all that, that's cool, they can like what they like.

I am a real beer lover.

What is the deal with the connection between craft beer and heavy metal/video games? Aren’t teenage boys happy with whatever they can steal from their dad’s fridge? How the hell are they able to afford some of these high priced barrel aged stouts? It boggles the mind!

Yes, new beers with new labels every week is the norm now. What I've found to really curb my FOMO is to take notes on the beers you enjoy. Find out what hops are in them, how they were made, other ingredients such as oats, malts, or certain yeasts, and also the age in the can when consumed. By taking these factors into consideration you can then pursue what you will most likely enjoy and cut out the sparkling labels, cool cartoons and buzzwords a lot of hype breweries utilize.

Breweries that make you wait in line for hours to build hype instead of just releasing tickets online like a fuckin' human being

People making their own beers glasses with shitty video game graphics, and selling them on Facebook.

Or, those horrible "Glassy" glasses. My god.

This seems like a good idea, but the problem is there is no Pull by date, so stores can force distributors to replace old beer on the shelf. Not everyone lives in an area of multiple market choices

Absolutely. On the other hand, I'm 6'4" and about 250, and I really don't want to go to jail for beating a line cutter senseless. I mean, I kinds do, but I know I shouldn't.

This post right here is possibly the only thing that really annoys me.

People objecting to secondary values for *cash* but it's OK for *trading*.

The secondary "value" of beer leaking into the trade market has really f*cked up trading. Back when I was young(er) you traded rare beer for rare beer, locals for locals, & who the hell cared how much someone would pay for it? Now if you have a hyped, 170 bottle release that'll razzle & dazzle for $280, you're going to want equal "value" in return.

Oh, & Def Leppard. Annoying to the nth degree.

I just use secondary to quantify “rare beer for rare beer”. If I want a Handjee I’m gonna have to trade something of equal rarity to get it

The most annoying thing about beer today is that every new brewer wants $16/4pk for mediocre beer. It used to be just IPAs; now there are pilsners, saisons, and kolsches being sold at this price.

Attention new brewers: if you want me to buy your beer, don't price it the same as the best beer being made in the whole country. Once you achieve world class quality, then I'll pay world class prices for your beer. Not before.

Why do you believe that "bashing" is inherently invalid? What you call "bashing" in many cases I would call "cogent criticism," which I think is a core purpose and function of BeerAdvocate in both the forums and the ratings/reviews. I think this thread is far from a "shitshow," although it does seem to have some people worked up in their efforts to stifle conversation and debate. I personally don't enjoy the relentless hyping for which the BeerAdvocate forums are famous and often mocked, but I don't go onto the What Beer Are You Drinking Now? threads and call for them to be deleted.
