From what I saw, it was quirky throughout.

    Well Hello Late Night NBS
Not much new beer here. So I popped one I was thinking about sending in my followup box in our NBS BIF #10.

Zodiac Series: Scorpio a hazy by Chapman Crafted. They do some solid beers, but this one didn't wow me. So it won't likely make the next box to @Ozzylizard .

Enjoying a movie, beers, and cheese plate featuring homemade jam courtesy of @bstoos in the NBS BIF. This peach jam is some next level shit, it tastes just like pie!

Adios Ghost triple IPA from Monkish. All Citra, which is my favorite hop so this is a beer pretty much engineered for me. Like all good TIPAs, there is no hint of the 10.2% booze. Beautiful orange color and sports that light creamy Monkish mouthfeel that dances across the tongue. A more bitter hop profile than many NEIPAS but balanced and delicious. Gotta give this one a 4.75.

    Late night NBS shenanigans.

Tonight I’ve gathered two new-to-me IPAs to try blind alongside Torpedo - a beer that I pretty much consider a masterpiece of the style (yeah, you read that right). No pics to show color because I had these in opaque glasses. In the end, I was able to accurately guess which beer was which even though 2 out of 3 were new to me. So, no cool surprises, but this was fun as usual. Here are my reactions in order of most preferred beer to least:

    1) Torpedo - outstanding head, very bitter, crisp, balancing malt sweetness, tastes of orange rind, extremely dialed in.

    2) Oyster Bay IPA (a local) - nice head, very little malt presence, thin, dry, nice bitterness, tastes of grapefruit rind and lemon, nice but lacking malt character that would bring it together.

    3) Heavy Seas Loose Cannon - nice head, smooth, heavy on the palate, pungent and vegetal in an old-school IPA way, bitter, tastes of raddichio, least favorite but still good.

    Cheers

My local pub traded out the Torpedo tap handle for Hazy Little Thing some time in the past year, and it just isn't nearly the same. I don't get the bottles too much, but the draught was always a fantastic pint.

Torpedo does hit the spot just right. I cannot take it for granted.
