I miss the Clusterforks events. Things like that would really help breathe new life back into the RS/HS and allow members to get to know and enjoy time with each other and feel more like a community of members.

Actually, it might seem like an initial kick in the pocketbook pants, but that’s not a bad idea. Maybe it doesn’t have to be a whole anniversary party, but what if they offered complimentary (or super, super cheap) 1.5 oz tasters of each allocation during SMM. Come in, get a punch card, turn your punch card in at the end of the day and be entered in a raffle for something (archived BT Bottle, voucher for $50, or something like that).

Indeed, these videos should be linked to emails for more viewing. Excited for BT 2yr Wine now.

Really enjoyed the videos as well. And where did Royal come from? Sounds fantastic and no heads up.

Bleh. Well, they had held constant for a remarkably long time... Though I assumed improving production efficiencies had been basically keeping profit margin steady.

Sucks, but if they're right that the market will bear it then more power to them.

Odd that the two year wine BT wasn't branded under the "Reserve" line, given the price point and the style.

Very curious to see in March how the insulated tote bag turns out... Could be a winner.

I'm less excited about finding cupboard space for four new glasses though... But no worries, cheers to beers!

I'm disappointed with the cost/time value as well (even with the "extra" 30 minutes). It's part of the reason I'm not going. It's a lot harder to convince people to do something like this when it seems like a bad deal or less than fair value. Trying to get through enough beer to justify the price of admission in a small time frame also has the unfortunate effect of possibly drinking too much too fast.

That said, workers don't work for free and there is an opportunity cost of not having Terreux open and doing business. I don't think it closes the gap completely but it narrows it a bit more.

It'll be interesting to hear back from attendees on the quality of the event.

Yeah, on one hand, they have held steady for a long time. On the other hand, they entered the market with these price points a decade ago, when there were far fewer competing "comparable" options at any price point, and there was more perceived value in the exclusivity of the Society. Today, many of us have an abundance of options to get our fix of high quality Barrel Aged options on shelves all around town, for a lower price point than the Bruery has offered for the last decade (and opinions of whether they are "comparable" may vary).

I don't think the slightly higher prices will affect my purchase decisions much, but the reality is that I have already scaled back on my Bruery purchases for the last several years at the existing price points, because of those other cheaper options on the shelves.

Does anyone know if any of the latest allocations are "included" already? I'd be inclined not to purchase any additional bottles if there are already bottles included as part of the membership, but the email they sent didn't say that any were included.
