I started going to other half about a month after they opened. I remember getting "in line" a few weeks before the first Street Green release for All Green Everything and I think Hop Showers at 945am with 5 people in front of me. Got to the street green release at 830 thinking it would be a little busy. It took 4 hours to get two 4pks. I've been there maybe 5 times since then. It's mostly because paying 2 bridge tolls sucks but getting "limited" other half releases is unenjoyable. Especially when their anniversary beers aren't any better than their regular beers.

Thanks @patmcd and @stairway2heavn for the #realbeertalk. I'm looking forward to trying 6th Anny but in no rush...and I agree bourbon barrels can't fix broken beers.

I suppose at some point you stop making yearly birthday beers right, or make just the same one every year once a year? Will there be sufficient interest in a 12th, or 24th anniversary? And will there be Roc anniversary?

If creepy owner guy is listening now, I'd like to advise that maybe after 10 (or sooner!), just throw a ticketed party with exclusive limited releases! I don't fuck with NYE but I respect and enjoy their beer enough to throw down premium dollars for a cool get down that celebrates their contributions to beer. And it's ok to give away tickets to your fanfam. Everyone will wait in the same bathroom line at the end of the day.

And lastly great work everyone, we're at 30 pages in early February, we're gonna blow away least year's page count... who wants to wager a round the exact number?

2019 didn’t have All Glock Everything so definitely not as juicy. I’m pulling for 195 this year.

Addendum to my post: people who joined just recently, people who previously won, and people who make smoked beer a feature of their identity, aren't eligible to play.

Just like people who bring Glocks to Brooklyn clearly don't deserve Other Half quality beer.

Look I'm silly for going when I did, but if @BoardwalkBock felt better traveling back to there from NJ then I guess at least one soul benefited, so there's that. Maybe one day I'll make a Meetup. Thanks to everyone for being voices of reason here. As a SNJ resident, please appreciate your opportunity to live in NYC. I'd love the opportunity to live in a city at this point and have regular access via mass transit to this place when they don't suck. Enjoy your hauls, and as I said, ACE and Diamonds will be better.

The past 24 hours of posts was well worth the morning toilet read.

I drank an Oat Overdose in honor of those who waited on line Friday into Saturday and it’s probably the best beer they released for the anniversary. I waited exactly 0 minutes for it.

Agreed. Probably still a little green, but these anniversary IPAs really hit you in the face, in a good way.

Let the record show cans of 5th and 6th still available. This serves as a PSA for next years round of pre-release FOMO.
