What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2715

Happy Friday everybody!



Had the Chappelle’s Show marathon on most of the day.

 

Pours a hazy dark yellow with finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace as it settles, canned on 3/9/2020. 4.5

Smell is tangerine, green grapes, ripe melon, papaya, mango, and apricot really nice. 4.5

Taste follows tangerine papaya, mango, cantaloupe upfront leads to green grapes and apricot in the bold but balanced finish. 4.5

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, sticky never dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 8% ABV extremely easy drinking. 4.75

Overall this is one of the highest reviewed beers going and it lives up to the hype, just tasty NEDIPA that has a bunch going on. 4.5

Beautiful day out, around 60 and sunny. Never had this happen before, but this IPA got skunked after just a few minutes in direct sun. Straight up Heineken in a green bottle but hoppier. Came back inside and either I got used to it or the skunk subsided. Still tasting pretty good, either way.

I ordered some more beer to be delivered to my house. A store I like not too far away has been advertising their free delivery. Ended up getting two cases. Kind of overkill, but I wanted to make the delivery worth the effort.

Sitting here thinking of my younger brother who I heard from earlier.The mfg company he worked for furloughed over 90% of the employees. Worst part for him is losing me coverage if they don't get called back soon. He is on anti-rejection drugs for the kidney I gave him years ago.

Damn! Makes you wonder. Those people who have no desire to work, and have not for years, would get the prescription for free. Guys like us that have worked their asses off all their lives and been a positive influence on society may not get drugs they need to stay alive. Met this head on when I changed jobs and insurances were transitioning and wife in hospital almost septic. Told us we need to go home because we don't have insurance. I have two Master's degrees, and almost to my Doctorates and I had to take my wife out of the hospital sick. Sister in law hasn't had a job in 15 years, 5 kids, 4 under 6 and gets everything paid for. Makes me sick!!! However, guys like us will find a way to get it done. Prayers your way. I know you and your brother's strength will get it taken care of. Prosit!!
