I had a thought of how to ask my wife to incorporate this into our new backyard that we are planning to get redone. Then I remembered I get away with WAAAAY more than I should with my beer habit and it's best left as a figment of my imagination.

So I saw Maibock hit Beer Cellar this week, and got excited. Saw the price, and hesitated. Then thought “When has Dovetail done me wrong?” Just opened one, and zero regrets. Nice sweet and smokey beer.

You guys keep sending stuff to the western burbs, and I’ll keep buying it...(Kolsch please!!)

For those hesitating on the Maibock, or questioning "is this too smokey for me?" - don't.
It's fantastic. Holy criminy. Talk about rocking out with your Maibock out.

Yeah, it's barely smoky at all. Just enough of a hint of smoke to make it interesting.

Yea i would guess wont notice much unless searching for it. It’s a nuance or an undertone. The opposite of pastry beer

Did any of these hit distro? (Been away awhile.)

Particularly interested in the Pils and Kolsch.

“The city is not requiring people to get food at restaurants, so we don’t understand what the difference is between someone going to a restaurant, sitting down … ordering a drink, and coming here and doing the same thing,” said Hagen Dost, co-owner of Dovetail Brewery, 1800 W. Belle Plaine Ave. in North Center’s Malt Row.

Dost is asking the city to create a temporary pilot program to allow breweries like his to create outdoor space to serve customers. He’s envisioning tables spaced six feet apart, limiting people to reserving a table in blocks of 75 minutes, allowing time for staff to sanitize all tables as they turnover and partnering with food trucks to encourage people to eat while drinking.

Otherwise, breweries risk folding, Dost said. Taproom sales accounted for nearly two-thirds of Dovetail’s revenue last year, he said. They’ve been forced to expand their wholesale business this year, but they had their worst week in their history last week and fear that trend will continue as people now have the option of drinking on a restaurant patio.

I posted a new thread earlier on this, seems ridiculous restaurants are treated differently than bars. Hopefully Chicago can make it even across the board with the same restrictions.

I know Kolsch will be seeing distro in the future and has been added to the regular lineup. The others I believe are taproom/carry out only.

I haven’t seen logic or “science” beyond the political variety from either party for three months and counting. I don’t expect it to change now.

What about music, theatre and other venues with ZERO revenue now or possibly for years. Will our residents and businesses get a rebate on our property tax bills for all the services not rendered?

Got to disagree, state of Illinois has been largely good about using science to make decisions in response to all this. Yes, there have been some deviations from that but by and large they've done a good job using science, even when it upset the public.

I do agree with Dovetail here though, it's a bit inconsistent the way they've approached who is/is not included in this phase three reopening.

This appears to be the City of Chicago restricting this and not the state which has actually done a good job thus far in my humble opinion.

Heads up to folks in Naperville. Delivery service this week.
    http://dovetailbrewery.com/dovetail-drops

Wish they could do some sort of delivery set up in the burbs where folks could roll up (socially distanced of course) and pick up their orders at some central location. Would be easier for them than going house to house in the spread out burbs. In related news, I need more Lager.

Does anyone have details on this? Can you park your car in Naperville and have them drop off or do you need a physical living address? I requested West Burbs prior but naperville is farther west than I was hoping lol.

They'll deliver to your house if you place an order during the window and live in that above area.

Thanks FB, I’m a bit outside the zone, so looks like a visit to the brewery will remain near the top of my “things to do” list. Cheers.
