One group already agreed to a 50% reduction in pay and abided by their March agreement. The other presented a farcical proposal designed to divide the union prior to 2022 CBA negotiations.

One group has ***** tax payers in the tune of billions of dollars, the other is risking their lives and the lives of their loved ones to enrich billionaires further for a few crumbs.

One group spent millions successfully lobbying Congress to deny paying their minor league players a living wage minimum wage.

Saying the players are "greedy" in this scenario is equivalent to calling Bezos' millions of amazon warehouse slaves "greedy" for asking for PPE and continuation of their $1-$2 hazard pay while dying at their jobs.

Players have a very limited career, whereas MLB Owners immoral greed and avarice continue unabated in perpetuity, while Congress continues to allow these greedy vile creatures to operate outside of anti-trust regulations.

I always hated everything by Sierra Nevada. Pale Ale, Torpedo, Bigfoot, etc., etc. Oh, and FYI, I’ve been on here for over 14 years, so I’m not some bratty newbie. I guess you can consider me an old money ticker with a new money palate.

I don’t think the “snobs” would get pissed off. They’d just think you’re an idiot.

Btw, much respect to SN, Ken Grossman and everything they’ve done for the craft beer world. Their beers just aren’t my thing though.

That is controversial. Finding hate in SNPA seems like you're hating for sport and antagonism. Even the worst blowjob is right on the money

I think their current portfolio sucks, but its a reflection of current demand.

My favourite controversial beer opinion is to say that Belgium produces some of the worst beers known to man.

Yes they produce some great trappist ales and lambics but for such a small country they weigh in heavily with more than their fair share of crap as well. Rubbish adjunct lagers and some artifical fruit flavoured beers are amongst the most disgusting I've ever tasted, in fact I'm sure I've been unwell after a couple of them. Some hateful sours, flanders ale (like a cheap English bitter with sherry thrown in) and some of their well regarded blond ales taste like something a woman would spray on her neck.

I do very much like Chimay and Rochefort though

It's all relative. Granted many players do well for themselves, but the majority in most major sports leagues play their entire lives for a relatively short career, especially in (American) football, and certainly don't make enough to just never work again to age 75. Moreover, I'll "I'm a physician" you and explain that even younger people sometimes are experiencing reduced lung function. Now, those of us running a couple miles a few times a week and maybe some free weights... We may not notice much. For an elite athlete, where millisecond differences etc is the difference between having a job and... Not... It matters a whole lot more. An a-hole robber Baron owner sitting in a luxury home/apartment/suite at the stadium with everyone around them thoroughly tested (.. Sounds like another loser) isn't taking that risk.
One can both feel for essential workers and mid/low level professional athletes with limited career spans potentially forced to risk their health for their livelihood.

Oh, controversial beer only statement... overwhelmingly BBA stouts are better fresh than cellar aged when from a well established brewer (GI, Kane in NJ, etc.).

We were discussing baseball. The football season has not been impacted (yet).

    https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...oposal-includes-pay-cuts-highest-paid-players

The formula the league offered, for example, would take a player scheduled to make the league minimum ($563,500), give him a prorated number based on 82 games ($285,228) and take a 10% cut from that figure, leaving him with a $256,706 salary.

The scale goes down as salaries go up, with every dollar:

    $563,501 to $1 million paid at 72.5%

    $1,000,001 to $5 million paid at 50%

    $5,000,001 to $10 million paid at 40%

    $10,000,001 to $20 million paid at 30%

$20,000,001 and up paid at 20%

SN are the epitome of an old-school, West Coast craft brewing - every beer is really hoppy (even ones that aren’t traditionally hoppy, like barleywines), in a resiny and bitter kind of way. Much respect to them for their contributions to the craft beer world, but I never liked their beers in the past and I still don’t like them now.

Perhaps, but I’d be willing to bet that most new money tickers would be in agreement with me on this (not that this really means anything). SN’s hop profiles definitely aren’t en vogue right now, unless you’re going for that retro, West Coast hoppy thing.

I'm not the biggest fan of old school west coast hops, but compared to some of the others, find SN at the very least "tolerable" (maybe being in the heart of it all have grown acclimated?)

Not only controversial, but it must have been pretty stifling for you, considering the popularity and reach (when people think of "American" style ales, or craft beer, SN and SN inspired breweries are there)

And that prorated, depending on how many days they spend on the MLB roster. It's not uncommon for a player to be called, for example, up from Tacoma in the morning, and sent back down immediately after the game. That is 1 day of MLB pay, before union dues ($80/day) and taxes, and clubhouse fees.

More importantly, it limits the amount of "club control" the owners have to lose. It's a major way owners screw the players.

So you're an en vogue sort of beer drinker. Now this makes sense. You dodge bitterness and seek the pillowy, gentle fruits.

Couldn't you say this about American craft beer as well?

Personally I'll take a Flanders Ale over a Chocolate Sandwich Cookie Cheesecake Fudgy Wuzzy Slippers.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/26749/459146/

English barleywines are traditionally not hoppy, Bigfoot is an American Barleywine. Just like how Celebration isn't an English IPA, and is hoppier.

Also, what about Summerfest? I get what you're saying, and don't entirely disagree, but they do make styles that aren't all about scathingly bitter C-hops.
