I didn’t see an official thread, so i figure I’d start one while we all eagerly await sipping a cold lager on a hot sunny day overlooking the chicago river..

Has anyone ordered to-go from metropolitan? I see they fill growlers, can you bring your own or do you need a Metro labeled growler?

Also, any upcoming can releases next week or 2? I’ll definitely grab some stromhaus provided they are still available when I make the drive out in a week or so.

Metropolitan’s To-Go is super easy, it’s on their website. They are filling growlers of the specialty stuff, either new growlers or bring yours in. Not sure if it has to be their branded one specifically, give them a call and ask (they are very friendly). Heliostat is a strong recommendation for a fill.

Stromhaus should be out in distro now, I recommend picking it up. Just keep an eye on their social media for new cans, haven’t seen anything posted yet. They do frequent social media updates.

Glad someone started this thread! I cannot overstate how excited I am that Metro is finally getting into canning/distro of said cans; they have one of the most dependable lineups in the city, and Stomhaus is one of my favorite beers.

I'm also (incredibly impatiently) counting down the days until we're safely able to enjoy their taproom again. That patio is one of my favorite places in the city to drink.

Does Binny's have the cans yet? They don't have them on their website.

I didn’t see them at Portage Park Binny’s when I was in last week.

Same. Fantastic. Hope it becomes a mainstay around here and sees regular deliveries.

I do not know if this counts as curbside pickup; but when I went there to buy the cans of Stromhaus Helles, the entrance north of the doorway which puts you in the labyrinth heading to the tap room was where Metropolitan was selling a number of its packaged beers to take away (not just the Helles). :relaxed:

They posted that they are planning to open to the public on Thursday 6/18 at 2 pm. They said they'll post further updates this week.

From their Facebook on the subject of the crazy packed bars in Wrigelyville...

This bullshit will squander every sacrifice made over the past few months; render all of our painstaking efforts to get back to business safely useless; and frankly, is deeply disrespectful to our industry and to the health of our community.

We're calling for the reporting and citation of any and all bars operating in this manner. We give zero fucks about the possible loss of sales to these accounts. We care about the life and health of our community above profit - always have. Always will.

If you're heading out to places like this and plan to behave so irresponsibly, as far as we're concerned: NO BEER FOR YOU.

Looks like they are releasing a pre-prohibition Pilsner today, courtesy of 19th century Chicago Brewery, Seipp Brewing (forgive me if I mixed up or mispelled the name) It is an extra pale pilsner.. sounds quite interesting.

I read a cool article but now I’ve lost it on seipp, so instead ill like to their website:

$10 12 oz six pack, $7 .5L. It’s a good pilsner, light aroma, grass, bread and pepper lead, corn backed. Good beer to get you through a hot Summer day. On the fence of bringing this home, but worth a try. (BA scoring 3.75, 3.25, 3.5, 3.5, 3.5).

First time here, very nice space. Inside is open so taking advantage of the AC.

If you get that Maibock please report back on that as well. I haven’t been able to get over to try it and I really want to!

I liked the Kolsch and Seipp pours. My favorite was the Woke As Helles. Based on your post, I ordered a quarter liter Maibock and I am glad I did.

I only passed on bringing this home because I have too much beer and I’m on “Beer Time Out”. This pour has a bold honey lemon grass floral aroma and taste, it’s a solid Maibock pour and I will order again if I come across in the future.

The indoors seating worked great today due to the heat and humidity. I am glad I made it here today, and plan on returning later this month.

It is very very safe, the entire team did a great job with service and precautions. I commend this brewery for their dedication to the beer, staff and customer safety.

I will now walk of these beers on this perfect Summer afternoon.
