I drank/reviewed that beer yesterday and agree 100% with your review. I’m not typically a fan of Mosaic, but I’ll drive back across the Bay to get more - Cheers!

I haven't tried this beer, but this line makes it a bit of a disappointment for me. When i saw the press release, I kind of hoped this just had a lot of that softness that a lightly fruity single-origin coffee can have, with all the creaminess, and with the hopes of the vanilla adding to and playing off that creaminess. Unfortunately, it tasting like it has a bunch of chocolate in it - given that it's not a stout - just makes it sound like something that just isn't in my wheelhouse.

    Thanks for the review.

I want to write a fancy review. But all I can say is if you love Tootsie Roll Caramel Apple lollipops—which I do—you will love this beer. Smell and taste right on point.

My pleasure. At $2.79/single I couldn’t wait to try it. I like it, but I like sweet. If Founders goes down this path to truly add to its coffee beer line up, I’d ask for less milk sugar and more coffee - cheers!

    Hello New Beer Weekend!!!

Enjoying a nice day off work with some good food and beer.

And for the beer, this one is from a massive package that @Dragginballs76 so kindly sent me.

Energy Equals from Equilibrium Brewing. A NEIPA clocking in at 8% ABV.

I do like the style and I do really like this beer. Damn tasty, and I can't thank you enough for sending it to me.

Pours a hazy orange color. 2 finger white and fluffy head. Retention is great. Beautiful lacing on the glass.
The nose is a very dank citrus aroma. Lots of pineapple.
Taste - a creamy flavor mixed in with tons of pineapple, and a hint of orange.
The body is thick and creamy. Soft mouth feel.
    Solid and delicious IPA.

Right now I'm drinking a new Trillium version of a Monkish beer called Foggiest Window. This beer is a triple dry-hopped Double IPA with Citra, Nelson and Galaxy hops. I believe this is Trillium's first "triple dry-hopped" beer. I have had a triple dry-hopped IPA from Omnipollo, but otherwise not sure if I've had any else, though I do see them more these days. Omnipollo's TDH IPA didn't taste as hoppy as a Trillium DDH IPA, so I expect a Trillium TDH IPA to be very hoppy.

This beer pours an opaque yellow gold with a quickly dissipating white foam head. Absolutely huge aromas of ripe melons, pineapple, yellow mango, white grapefruit, orange peel, citrus pith, hint of oaty malts, and some green earthy floral dank resinous pine. Tastes really fresh right now, similar tropical notes of melon, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, orange citrus, citrus pith, lime, white grape, hints of creamy oat malt, with mildly spicy green dank resinous floral earthy pine. Feels soft and smooth, medium-full bodied, creamy with moderate carbonation. Overall a really great triple dry-hopped NEDIPA.

This is a real nice hoppy beer and probably one of my favorites and best I've had. At 3 days old this is drinking nicely and I think it will only get better over the next few weeks. Definitely one of the most hoppy beers I've tasted. Cheers everyone! :beers:

Keeping things moving with the Other Half Green City beers. Now up Level 3: Broccoli Kong Vs. Green City All-Stars. Really like the balance on this. 10% ABV is well hidden and it’s not sweet for the ABV.

Pours a glowing yellow with tons of fizzy white head that hung around for longer than I was expecting. Nose is relatively nondescript, with a typical berliner sourness mixed with some orange juice aromas. On the tongue, this is really interesting. Absolutely reminds me of the beer equivalent of a mimosa. Light and refreshing, with the orange & grape juice flavors omnipresent but balanced enough so as to not overpower the base berliner weisse underneath. This beer is very appropriately named, as it really would be a perfect brunch beer.

Good morning NBSers! This morning I am reviewing MO Pale Ale from Maine Beer Co., which I've somehow never had until now. Local store had a fresh batch in, so I picked it up. I am a big fan of all of Maine Beer Co.'s beers so I admittedly come into it with higher expectations for this one.
Pours a semi-cloudy, but in no way opaque light orange color. Nice thick bubbly-foamy head forms on top of the beer and shows excellent head retention. Some nice white lacing coats the glass as the beer is consumed. Aroma has notes of navel oranges, grapefruit, pine, a woodsy note with some light grassy notes towards the back end.

Taste follows the nose with some grapefruit and orange notes giving way to notes of dried pine needles, grass, producing a moderate bitterness. The malt has some caramel notes, with a light cracker character to it as well. The malt is secondary to the hops but still plays an important role in the flavor profile. Feel is light, crisp, and rather bright. Finishes quite dry on the back end.

Overall this was really nice. Its not going to replace any of my favorites, but I will probably pick this one up again when it shows up fresh.

Party Wave a 7,4 ABV Hazy IPA from Kane Brewing in Ocean NJ. This beer is brewed with Pilsner Malt, wheat and low pine and Crystal and hopped with Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra hops. It pours hazy yellow with a white head, Nice mild aroma of pine and citrus, there is a nice cracker flavor from the malt along with citrus and melon in the taste, Party Wave in well balanced and has a light mouthfeel. The finish is dry, A very enjoyable and easy drinking brew even with the high ABV.

Next up, the picture is a two-for-one:

I am reviewing the hazy hop bomb on the left, 8 Count IPA by Lupulin Brewing in Minnesota, an American IPA that clocks in at 7.5% ABV.

This is an interesting contrast to Rake. It's only 0.5% lower, but it's worlds apart - both good and bad.

The mouthfeel here is exceptional. It's creamy and full bodied, soft and pillowy. Absolutely NE-IPA territory.

The flavor and aroma, though, can't hang with the best. It's tasty enough, but it comes across almost stale - despite being barely more than a month old - and there's a licorice-like tone on the back end that I really do not like (I hate licorice).

Another reviewer (@Blogjackets ) noted: "flavor drops off like a scotch ale, leaving an empty back end." My experience is similar, although we have different ways of describing it.

Ultimately, this isn't bad, and your personal palate may well appreciate it more than I. For me, however, finishing this beer is proving to be a chore. I'd love to have it on tap, and eliminate any concerns about shipping and storage, to see if it's a different experience.

I'm always up for trying something new from Main Beer Company. A Tiny Beautiful Thing, 5.5% ABV, American Pale Ale.

Pours with a slight haze, a pale golden/yellow color. A dense white head rises to over two fingers with excellent retention. Plenty of sticky lace clinking to the glass.
Nose is, citrus and orange zest up front, even a bit of pineapple and touch of melon in the nose. Not a lot of malt character here, but the hops are very vibrant and fresh.
Taste is, Citrus and orange rind up front again. Melon fruits. Cereal grain, and a touch of sweetness. There is a substantial bitterness lingering and drys everything out along the way.
A medium body with good effervescent carbonation. Crisp, clean and finishes dry. An easy one to drink and come back to, which is pretty par for the coarse for MBC.

Like everything I have had from Maine, this is really well made. A solid pale ale all around, even if it is more in IPA territory, though thats also not surprising as that line continues to get blurred. No bother, another good offering. I might like Peeper just a touch more, but that is splitting hairs, and both are well done.

    Overall Score 3.92

    Howdy!
I'm pinning this to the virtual beer review community. ORB Sense of Space Lager. 4.8%
Probably canned two weeks ago (they don't date their cans yet) based on IGram account info.
I like to have a beer (or two) first, before I do a full and shared review.
Maybe I was a little hard on this, but the toasted malt on this really sticks out. Very intriguing lager that leans almost a little "festbier" given its color too.

    3.79/5 rDev +15.9%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4+ | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

L - Good, big coarse bubbles, decent head, not a ton of lacing at this 4.8% ABV .Canned likely 3 weeks ago (but no date)
S - Good malt, honey, faded oats smell. Smells like an AAL with more malt/
T - More of the same, but I do like the depth of "toasted malt" this leaves on the tastebuds. That is what distinguishes and in some ways "saves" this beer for me. Otherwise, yeah a Lager, but with none of the crispness and small bubbles one would expect.
F - Good on the palate, decent sour-malt-lager palate impression, "tastes" bigger in the mouth than its ABV.
O - a good lager, but a tweener beer for me, almost a light Lager trying to do an impression of a festbier without the (ABV) guts to back it up.

    LOL

BLUF: Not bad, but I would struggle to make it through 16 ounces. And my partner - again, an admitted Basic - failed to make it through her 10 ounces. So, not bad, but certainly not worth pickup up unless you're in the mood to tick.

Which .... yeeaaahhhhh, guilty as charged. :grinning:
