So glad you like that one. Some barrel guys don't do finesse with vanilla, and I am often left wishing for a more gentle touch. I REALLY like this one. It's deep and round on the vanilla, but smooth.

ISO: Gary's Fresh Hop APA. Which I guess is a good response here for I am taking some meds this weekend that had my Doc recommending, "Taking a beer break." So I will read, and enjoy.

Are those pizzelles? or some well-refined cheese/cracker crisps? They look nice. Cheers!

Yet another new-to-me and new-to-BA offering.

    16 oz. can.
    Canned 10/08/20.
Moderate pour yields a nearly two inch mocha head over a near black body with some lacing, fleeting at best, and disappearing fairly quickly. Nose of roasted malts, coffee, slight vanilla, slight chocolate, and even slighter maple. Taste is very roasty (malt and coffee) with a maple and slight vanilla finish. As it warms a milk sugar "maple creamee" (it's a Vermont thing!) vanilla flavor comes forward with a silky maple finish. Nice feel and overall, a very tasty treat for dessert.
Cheers to the boys on the waterfront of Burlington, VT!

Evening everyone. One and done for me tonight. I picked this beer up this weekend when I stopped in at Half Acre to pick up the latest Averie Swanson - Keeping Together beer. This is Half Acre's Countryside Bitter - an English bitter clocking in at 4.3%.

Pours a dark orange - brown color. Mostly clear with a bit of cloudiness present. Nice thick off-white head forms, then dissipates, but never completely. At least a 1/4 inch of foam lingers on top of the beer. Aroma has notes of earthy malts with some orange marmalade and spice coming though on the nose. A touch of tea and yeast is also present on the nose.

Taste follows the nose with a nice malty profile up front with some light earthy hops, orange marmalade, black tea, and spice. Perfectly balanced throughout. Light bitterness in the mid to back end of the profile. Feel is light, crisp, easy drinking and smooth. Really vibrant carbonation.

This is a really well done bitter. The ideal "session" beer as its easy drinking, but doesn't pack much of a punch in the ABV department.

One more after a great Seahawks/Cards game. New to both BA and I is Almanac's First Class Delivery. Hazy DIPA that's dry-hopped with Nelson, 8% ABV.

Can dated 09/30/20 into an imperial nonic pint.

L: Murky brown bronze with nearly 2 fingers of white medium density head with good retention and left mixed lacing.

S: Nose pops, white grapes, dank, and diesel.

T: Follows nose but with some added citrus and hints of gooseberries. Finishes with moderate bitterness and some acidity, both linger a bit on the palate.

F: Medium bodied with Medium-high carbonation, thick and tingly on the tongue, full on the swallow.

O: Its a very nice Nelson dominant hazy IPA. I'd grab it again.

    BA Score = 4.16, rev = 0.0%

They're cracker crisps by 34 Degrees. Whole Foods carries them. Really nice and light. Very neutral flavor too, low salt, so they work really well as a palate cleanser.
