Good catch. Top 10 most reviewed new beers.

Can you add stats for the most reviewed beers as well?

    Love the stats .:beers:
    Which ones?
I've liked Ommegang's, & B-43 from Old Nation, but none of the others, at least not enough to revisit them.

Metal Monkey had a pretty tasty one. Imperial Oak had a good one and I want to say Miskatonic had the best one I tried.

As a relatively new member, these are interesting numbers to me. You mentioned that you are ISO more international participation. Ironically, I think this may somewhat depend upon the beer tasting habits of your U.S. membership. I'm on the What Beer Are You Drinking Now thread daily and there are a large percentage of the U.S. beers that I am completely unfamiliar with. Yet, when I see someone posting about a non-U.S. classic or high quality international beer I know, it immediately draws my attention. While wanting to learn new things, most people naturally gravitate to what they know, which is not regional U.S. beers for international members. Given the high number and overall high quality, it was very surprising to me that only 2.3% of beer reviews were of Belgian Beers. Anyway, I'm greatly enjoying my time on the site. It's well organized, functions efficiently, and is overwhelmingly populated by gracious Advocates. Cheers.

The “micro” brew scene has changed beer forever. 10-15 years ago I always bought foreign brews because I knew Germany, Belgium, and Canada had some tasty choices. Now I have a hard time deciding what local brew I want to try. I think some ppl may have forgot about foreign brews recently. I think the brewery everyone should try or revisit is Weinstephaner (if I spelled it wrong I’m sorry) they have been around since 1014, 1040!!! Their beer is amazing too!

    Anyway cheers northern neighbor!

On a US centric site it can be hard for Belgians to gain traction.
Many drinkers don't want to make the effort to develop a taste for Belgians and there are large parts of the country where Stella is likely the only Belgian beer available, add that importers and brands don't do a lot of marketing. Where I am I have a choice of about 10 Belgian beers, 4 of which are chouffe

Despite being registered here for nearly 15 years, I don't contribute much due to 2 main reasons.

    1. I feel like posting on the internet, in general, has become shouting into the void. I can talk beer for hours with actual live human beings (and really miss that), but the threads I follow here often seem to devolve into noise. As I type this I wonder if more assertive moderation would help that. Or maybe no one else sees it as a problem.

    2. I often try new beers but have little interest in reviewing them. While I can see the value in it, especially as someone who's dabbled in homebrewing, I find the process tedious. Perhaps I'm due to revisit the whole thing and refresh my memory on exactly why it's off-putting.

Having said all of this, it's a great site with tons of information and some genuinely helpful users, so everything y'all do is very much appreciated.

I try to focus on new entries in these breakdowns, but I do plan on pulling this list for another post.

Talk beer & Drink beer! Though during much of this Plague the opportunity hasn't presented itself for me. I disagree on the 'threads devolve into noise' thing. For me that's not been the case.

Oh yeah, I'm certainly willing to consider that it's my own general malaise or short attention span.

When we review beers, it helps someone shopping at a store out of state who wants to try something new that they're not familiar with. I usually take a shot in the dark kind of thing. However, my friends look up on untapped or on here for ratings to see if something is really worth trying or not.

I enjoy shoveling, however, most others don't. By shoveling I can help my neighbors get in and out of their parking spots. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's like shoveling and drinking Imperial French Toast from Angry Chair co-lab at the same time. If you review, you can help your fellow neighbors and you can drink a beer at the same time.

Hopefully I helped tick the numbers up! I’ve been a user for a decade, but just joined this awesome community recently and find I really enjoy rating my tastings and sharing.

(Now if I can figure out how to upload photos, I’d be fully engaged.)

The article was an eye-opening read. I somehow thought sours were on the rise, not lagers, which I think is cool.

I’m also happy to live in a state where beer can be shipped to me (legally.,.), so my trade options will contribute to my ratings.

    Cheers y’all! Fuck pandemia!

Love the stats, and stinks that Todd can't get reliable intel from Google anymore for business analysis but I'm sure there are other ways to collect reliable data. Found it interesting that despite the surge in a push towards low cal/low ABV it seems that the overall beer ABV crept up again. If I were to guess, it is that more 1-off beers are higher ABV and when a brewer decides to makes a low cal/low ABV beer, its more of a a long term flagship type attempt and not pumping out a new low cal/ABV offering each week? Just a hunch. Quality of beer continues to improve, or perhaps I'm just in better knowledge of weeding out and only drinking the good and passing on the bad.

that's how I discovered BA, looking for a review or information or something about a relatively costly new-to-me quad

I also love statistics, especially statistics about beer, so thank you. I, personally, had a lot more check-ins in 2020 versus 2019 (40% more). But, all my check-ins are on Untappd. I understand the difference between BA and Untapped. But I started out on Untapped because of the app, and I like the social aspect. So I don’t plan to switch over and I’m definitely not going to rate beers in both places. It would be nice if members of BA could rate / review beers in both places at one time (use BA’s rating format in Untappd, and have them show up in BA). That might be a lower cost way to incorporate an app into BA.
