Still one of the best breweries in town.

    Totally agree with you but;
Believe it or not, they still and always have known how to make great beer.
Regardless of any missteps they've had, for me, they've always put out stellar beer through the years. Actually some of my favorites.

Almost everyone is struggling right now, but I've heard LA is struggling more than most.

A Still Small Voice is top-tier and exactly what I hope Lost Abbey continues to produce. Yellow Bus was good as well, and it's fun to appreciate it for the history in a now somewhat competitive field. In the next release I'm looking forward to Red Poppy Grand Cru as well as the normal version is always solid.

On the opposite end, I haven't been impressed with the more dessert forward sours they've been producing. Libri Divini wasn't very good.

The new Yellow Bus hit those old memories. Didn't taste the same, but I mean...nothing is as good as b1, amirite? It still had that nice dryness to it on the end that I very much enjoyed.

A Still Small Voice was so damn delicious. I was dumb for only buying a single bottle for myself.

Enjoyed my last DDG '16 a few weeks ago. It was excellent. I'll never forget that debacle of a sale. Good times.

Interesting to see there was no chatter about Lost Abbeys cellar sale. Fought against the insane website slowdown.Scored a couple things I never thought I would be able to touch.

If we are going to compare the batch2 of Yellow Bus to the original then I will say the quality isn't there....but batch2 of Yellow Bus is still beyond fantastic.

I am also glad that as a member I was able to hit up that warehouse sale a day before the public. I definitely went a bit too overboard.

Yeah the CC '12 went quick. I think there were only 6-8 up for grabs. Luckily I grabbed a DDG '19 and a CC '20.

Still interested to know why they were receiving hatred.

I think it's just the residual resentment from the DDG 16 sale and overall price point of their beers. Always thought the hate was overblown.

I'm probably dating myself here, but wasn't the hate triggered by all the flat/still Angel's Share and Cuvee de Tomme back in, oh, 2010? And all the hazy, murky Mongo?

That's what I remember. I stopped buying their bottles because they were a little too pricey (at the time) to run the likely risk of flat beer.

I also recall that Tomme's reaction to such customer service issues inspired a whole set of comics called "Tomme Arthur vs. The World."

    Here's an example.

Did any Yellow Bus make it it the general public sale yesterday?

Yes it did. I think there were 6-10 bottles of yellow bus that made it to the general sale.

Where are you getting these numbers? I have no inside intel to be able to say otherwise, but you stated that you think there were only 6-8 CC '12 bottles for the members pre-sale, and now that there were 6-10 bottles of yellow bus that made it to the public sale... Those are shockingly low numbers (in particular the CC '12). Do you have any input from someone at the brewery?
