Out at finnys getting some food and beer. Goose island lemon Shandy. Very nice. Authentic lemon vibrancy with wheat and cracker malts. Moderate bitterness. Light tartness. Medium bodied. Crisp med+ carb finish. Lingering sticky drying. Balanced malt and fruit flavor. Refreshing. Minimal warmth of abv. 3.9

One wonders if you're NBWing it up out of pure NBW reasons *or* if all this is a ruse/scouting venture for your next beer + whisk[e]y pairing?:thinking_face::thinking_face::stuck_out_tongue:

Either way, good review and sounds like a tasty brew. Cheers, my brown-drink buddy!

Dennis, thanks for an excellent review. I have to say I was astounded by how good this beer is. I know we don't get fresh Anchor Steam here in New Jersey but I've never been very impressed by that iconic beer. Cali Common Stock is so good and I can't think of another local example. Kudos to BnB for brewing it.

Light yellow body; lively carbonation; thick and fluffy white head; sticky, thick sheets of foam paint the interior of the glass. Wild and spicy aroma; sage and thyme; freshly cut green grass and lemon. Mildly phenolic flavor, blending some interesting elements of berries and pome fruits with a touch of citrus and light hop bitterness; white pepper. Medium body; mildly coarse with carbonation; dry juiciness overall.

A nice, enjoyable saison; nothing fancy or very memorable yet easy drinking and delightful enough for what it is.

Served at 57° F; "CANNED ON 10/9/20 SAISON JAMES".

...it's sunny and breezy plus fine weather overall for smoking chicken...and drinking warm weather beer - yes, that, too...

Platform Juiced Shandy raspberry pomelo. It's interesting but nice. Ripe raspberry and pomelo with balanced wheat malts. Light-moderate herbal/citrus bitterness and light berry tartness. Lingering sticky hops with light berry tannins. Medium body. I think the pomelo was too bitter for this. So with the berry it's odd. It works ok. 3.63

Brewing Projekt Float On IPA, 6.6% ABV. Pours orange and hazy, with a 4+ finger bright-white head that left lots of lacing. Nose is citrus. Taste is citrus, malt, grass, slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Mouthfeel is dry, though juicy. Overall excellent. Untappd and BA call this an IPA, but it seems more like a NEIPA.

This has been our first summery weekend, hot and humid so we took the opportunity to go walking in a state park 15 miles away, instead of the one bordering our lot, for some unknown reason.

Trillium Legroom DIPA. I think I've had Headroom sometime in the distant past, but definitely not Legroom. Going a little in reverse here, starting with overall impressions: wow, a really unexpected beer, and in a good way. I've gotten used to NE(D)IPAs being largely fruity and creamy, even when there's a nice bitter back-end, but this is much more like old-school Other Half I remember from 4-5 years ago. Pours a murky straw color, with a quick, foamy head that dissipates into soapy, sticky legs. Aroma is very light, even unpromising: grapefruit, pineapple, even a little green apple and cannabis.

On the tongue, things get more interesting, with pronounced fruit, but not the "tropical smoothie" the Trillium Web site promises--it's more pithy citrus with grassy undertones, and precisely the "resinous edge" that Trillium says is indicative of Headroom, not Legroom. It's funny, never has a Web site description been so opposite of my tasting experience. "Creamy mouthfeel with low perceived bitterness"? Um, no, actually it's a zippy, crackling mouthfeel with pronounced, lingering bitterness. Which, fortunately, I love. Stone fruits emerge as it warms, but nothing like, say, Speed Mettle, or many other recent Trillium DIPAs. I could readily gulp down several of these in a sitting, which I just may do.

This is a very good beer that apparently contradicts the brewer's intent (or at least marketing copy), which makes for an odd but satisfying reversal of expectations.

How you doing NBW. Ive been absent a week or two but decided to post a quickie today. This beer comes comes courtesy of the generous @JayORear. I havent had a lot of Tired Hands but most of what I have had have come from Jay.
    Sea of Green DIPA
Pours a very hazy golden orange with a generous slightly off white head with good retention and nice sticky lacing.
Aroma is big - notes of mango, orange, cannabis, lemon-lime and dark berries.
Taste follows with tropical, citrus, berries and a nice malt base with a perfect bitter finish.
Feel is pleasingly soft with decent carbonation, medium body with some hop oils up front but fairly drying on the finish. A very well balanced beer between bitter and slightly sweet- highly drinkable for 8% (why dont they list abv on their cans?). This one keeps you going from start to finish.
Super beer. This is Treehouse level, and above many of their beers actually IMHO. The more I drink of Tired Hand the more I wish I had access....or maybe not because my money would be flying more than it already is.
    Thank You Jay.[IMG]

Glad you liked it, man. Right now, they can't seem to make a bad beer, in spite of all the toxic culture bullshit that's recently been exposed. Hope they can clear that shit up so I can keep buying with a good conscience.

One of the most intriguing beers in @Roguer's second BIF box is Naberius, a Stout aged in oak barrels with pineapple, vanilla, orange, and coconut. It's aged for 15 months in double oak bourbon and applewood rye barrels. I've been waiting for a summery NBS to pop it. Today's the day. Wow, this is unique and delicious!

Poured at 63°. The Aardwolf stemless glass also comes from @Roguer. The color is a deep walnut with a thick, fizzy, medium-mocha head that dissipated rapidly. It has a very unique nose for a Stout: pineapple and orange-forward with the roasted malt, vanilla, and oak in the background. There is also some subtle tobacco smoke. The taste is equally unusual. It opens with a burst of ripe, sweet pineapple and orange that I would expect in an IPA but not a Stout. But the base Stout in the background features rich cocoa and a hint of freshly-brewed coffee. There is also a touch of earthy, oaky char and tobacco. The bourbon and rye notes are surprisingly delicate but really add to the overall flavor. I've had Stouts that remind me of a fruity liqueur but this reminds me more of an umbrella drink in a tropical resort. It's quite sweet. The mouth feel is rich, thick, and chewy with low - moderate carbonation, and the 11.7% ABV is sneaky high. Sip it slowly. What a treat! Thank you again, Andrew!

Glad you liked it, Rob! I was very pleasantly surprised by that one, and like you, I found the fruity tropical notes almost more in line with an IPA - but very welcome notes, nonetheless.

They brewed a beer called “steam engine” more than 10 years at Trap Rock. It was an Anchor Steam knock off. It was an excellent brew but nothing like Cali Common Stock. I knocked down a 32 OZ growler watching the Yankee game this afternoon. It's still getting better.

Ah! The wonderful tradition of New Beer Sunday; proud as always to read from others, soak in others experiences and contribute

As I relax after work here in the evening hours now with 1989 Detroit Tigers vs Toronto Blue Jays on the go - its clearly time for a Sunday after work beer with a baseball game on.

    Cool Brewing company's Stonewall Light.

Ice cold from a crystal clear glass bottle there is a mild element of pepe le pue. Some corn and aroma of a bowl of captain crunch that has sat in milk a tad too long before digging in. Lots of carbonation when you spin the bottle. *I'm reviewing it from the glass bottle as I don't see the difference from its vessel and from it being in a poured glass.

Taste is mostly malted corn and rice ; but balanced within those ingredients.
It says 'Add a squeeze of lime' So this is more of an Ikea beer that you build either in or out of the box.
For what it tastes of; the lime might as well have been added at bottling; some lime extract.

The taste thin and so light....... Its brewed to style. Its as elemental as it gets I just wish it had just a hint of malt to give it that classic lager taste in a minute moment.

It says right on the bottle it contains malted barely but this makes for a great platform for story telling. Sherlock Holmes and the case of the missing minute malt taste.

Not a bad light beer -

In final lets play some .500 level baseball

A steady diet of 2.5's across the board. Its not good, its not bad, its not anything. But! I did enjoy it in the moment and for my contribution to New Beer Sunday
