Are we still adding new "Places"?

    I tried to add another new place yesterday to the directory so that I could then post a review. About 24 hrs later it still doesn't show up as a findable "Place", even though it was highly worthy of inclusion in the directory, and I said so in the description of the establishment that I submitted to BA. In the past my new Place additions usually were listed in the directory and ready for review within the same day. Has "places" taken a distant back seat now to all other things BA? I know Todd has made passing reference in some posts to some uncertainty about the long term outlook for "Places". How long is now typical for a new Place to be approved and added?

    Took me from Sunday to Tuesday this week. It would seem it would be online by tomorrow. You’ve piqued my interest though as I was unaware there was any “uncertainty” regarding “Places”. Do tell.

    I added a couple recently. It took less than a day for the last one to show up in the database. Although that may have been an anomaly, they usually show up within a couple of days.

    Yes, you can still add places. Approval times depend on when it was added, mod team availability, and the amount of info entered. Most places are approved within a day.

    Approved tonight - I usually take a pass through these before I go to bed at night but I didn’t get a chance yesterday.

    Thanks for the explanation. The concern was less about the timeline for including a new place and very much a thinnly veiled fear that Places was no longer being supported. To me Places is an opportunity to cheer on superior venues or warn off others so they can avoid disappointment. I agree with some comments in the thread that you linked: Vibe and Quality are super subjective and poorly defined.

    Keep adding them. This is where I get all my beer places info when I travel. Plus, it is where I add a place when I find something interesting and new.

    My traveling is greatly restricted now but if I do come across a spot worth mentioning I will list it. Places has been a great help to me in the past and I wish it got more attention.
