w00t was no exception for me. When I said all but wiped out, I'm referring to the very faint oakiness and vanilla from the barrel. It doesn't drink like a barrel aged beer at all. Very thin and cola like. What works for me in that instance is the pecans. Those very rarely come through. It's such a delicate flavor. That works in w00t because those other flavors don't come through.

Having a Tree of Life barleywine right now, 36% BA and 64% fresh. The barrel notes compliment rather than overwhelm a wonderfully sticky sweet barleywine.

As much as I love barreled booze bombs, and I really, really do, I wish there more blended BA beers around. I appreciate the balance they offer.

Just curious, what's the procurement process for all of these fancy ingredients? Are you and Edgar going to go to Ralphs/Vons to stock up on churros? Or how do you plan to handle vendor selections?

How many churros would you need for a one-off beer?

Does the churro go in as part of the mash or it the beer aged on churros?

Both of these sound like good candidates, but I have had so many coffee-laden stouts that I think the Mexican Chocolate Cake would be a bit more unusual and challenging. As long as the adjuncts are managed well, it should turn out well. I've already ordered my box and can't wait for it to arrive! Bring on the Extreme!!!
