Oh, I get it, but it's still an outlander (as I've heard, it's pretty much *everywhere*) to the Midwest forum. I thought we were showing "local love" here.

Besides, SNPA is old hat anyway, amirite?

I get it, but it's not what OP asked for specifically.

Well, except that he chose the Midwest forum to start the discussion.

Seriously, I always see this forum as being for Midwest beer discussion -- Beer Talk is more for general discussion.

However, I don't run the joint, so you guys carry on with whatever.

GI Green Line was pretty dang good back before the buyout when it was a local draft only beer.

Is the difference between an ESB and a Pale Ale the American hops, mainly? Or, put another way, is a Pale Ale a modern US interpretation of an ESB? I like an ESB when I can find one, and a Pale Ale that isn't a DIPA in disguise or something.

Funny about the Off Color inspiration for this post—I am super curious about their take. Probably spot on. I really enjoyed their "Farmhouse Season" this fall (Aqua Predator, Very Busy Predator, etc.), and I may grab some more Le Woof if I get there again soonish. What's hilarious is that their marketing and explanation around it is that a Pale Ale now falls in an unrepresented style and thus their wheelhouse!

Moon Man is one of those ones that's easy to take for granted until you have it in your fridge, and then you just keep grabbing them.

(Off topic sort of, and to the earlier ESB question + Moon Man connection: I see the New Glarus site has the 1st quarter announced. I was hoping that Gyrator would open the door to things like an ESB, Dan's take on under represented continental styles, which are the things I vote for year after year that never get made. Oh well.)

Moon man is such a fantastic beer. I make sure to stop and grab a 12-pack if I’m anywhere close the the border.

    RE: Moon Man.

OK, but this is an objectively awful sentence:

Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real.

Daisy Cutter is my go to

Moon Man is probably the best in WI

I loved Ballast Point Grunion back in the day but never see it here in Chicago and doubt the quality is the same anymore

There's a Northeast forum thread started by a Vermonter IIRC about looking out for 2022 SN Bigfoot and the first reply from someone who found it (in the final days of 2021) came from a sighting in a Texas Whole Foods:

"Honey, I'm going out to buy some beer...
(see you in a few days if the weather co-operates)."

Off Color's Beer For Lounging is a solid American Pale Ale.

    Flavorful, balanced & pretty crushable.

You solo dome crowlers of bourbon barrel aged imperial stouts, is there anything that isn't crushable to you?

I liked it also. A little to malty for my tastes in regards to making it a go to, but it’s well done.
