    Hey advocates!

On yet another sunny, mild day I am opening Westmalle Tripel. For a few of you that might not have heard of it, @FBarber will host another tasting thread starting this Friday 25th dedicated to Tripels by the way. This should be a big one for all aficionados.

Our day light saving thing is later in March, so for the time being I am five hours forward to the East coast…

Good morning, BAs! I take my omelettes seriously - perhaps too seriously ...

Lime-and-cayenne sour crema; Satan's Breakfast coffee bourbon reaper salsa; home-pickled jalapenos; sharp cheddar and provolone, topped with shredded cheddar; turkey; onions, peppers, and garlic (saving the mushrooms for a separate meal; I used about half of the pictured onions and peppers).

Oh, and with KBS Hazelnut, which is growing on me more and more.

It literally didn't fit lol. I'm OK with that.

    Cheers!

Good morning BAs! Slept in late, usual chores done…today’s coffee is “Chupacabra (Batch 5)”an imperial milk stout, oak barrel aged in coffee, chocolate, marshmallows, cinnamon and cayenne, by 903 Brewers, Sherman TX:

No canning date. A recent Tavour purchase. Poured at 54°. Black with ruby see through; fizzy thin dark tan head disappears as fast as I can take the pic, leaving no cap, ring nor lacing; no legs on swirl. Nose is the barest scent of cinnamon; some chocolate as beer warms. Some cinnamon up front with mild hot peppers; sweet milk chocolate middle; still looking for the coffee. Silky thin feel; medium minus body; peppers tingle on tip of tongue; light carbonation; no warmth from 12.6% abv; dryish barrel finish. Overall, a very good milk stout, devoid of coffee but the right amount of mild cinnamon, and a nice hot peppers linger; a bit sweet, but the cayenne keeps the whole from being cloying.

    3.75 | 3.75 | 4.25 | 4.0 | 4.0

Score: 4.03 rDev -6.7% I’m the second review for this particular batch (5), and just the 218th review/check-in on Untappd…

Lots to do this beautiful breezy warm (80°) SWFL “Spring” day, both indoors and outside. Mrs. Z bought a pallet of concrete pavers yesterday, and somehow (with my recovering shoulder/biceps tendon tears) she believes I’m going to move/install them…I foresee beers in my immediate future :sunglasses:

Cheers y’all and have a great day!

Trying to get through as many cellar beers as I can before the weather warms.

Cellar review here. Long story short, the body is thinner, as is the flavor and noted ABV (about 1/3 in), but very enjoyable. Rated about 3/4 of a point less today than the OG fresh version.

Tavour x Listermann Brewing Co. -- White Chocolate Mocha Discrepancies
Imperial stout with raspberries, peanut butter, white chocolate, mocha and lactose
ABV: 14.0%; pouring temperature: 53 °F; bottling data: unknown

    4.12/5 rDev -2.6%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Dark body with a thin but lasting head. Big roasted and charred grain and coffee smell; peanut brittle. The taste follows along the lines of the smell; sweet raspberry and white chocolate start slowly yet finish strong; some quiet vanilla tones; boozy bitterness at the finish. Relatively heavy body; smooth and glassy; strong alcohol heat and bite; generally sweet mouthfeel.

Not bad for a beer shipper / brewer collaboration. The raspberry does a nice job of cutting back the sharp, bitter malt and mocha presence. The white chocolate adds another welcomed layer of complexity.

High Five. Triple from Breugem (NL).
@Shanex I saw you had their Asian Dubbel a couple of days ago. Breugem is available here in the supermarket (with a interesting beer department like a bottle shop) just recently. Not the Asian you had, just this triple an a DIPA.
This high five triple is a nice and good quality beer. No match however to the Belgian classics when it comes to (depth in) taste
    Cheers all!

I still haven’t asked where my friends who gifted this to me got it but since I’m a grown up man I should look it up myself and go from stores to stores. No one is supposed to hold my hand for everything at 38 year old.
