What beer are you drinking now? #3445

This is a very good and small local brewery that is very hard to score bottles from. Just a 5.5% NEPA but excellent. Cheers all.

 

A new twist on a classic and pretty darn tasty.

 

Carlsberg Elephant, an old favorite.



A Pilsner it may not be, but an old favorite it truly is. And it’s probably the freshest batch I’ve ever had (someone at my local packie put in a special order, so best by 12/09/22), so even though the desired green bottle “skunked hops” effect is present, it is quite minimal.

Well, my sleep is messed up, so I'm hoping to get to bed soon. This beer was not as enjoyable as anticipated when purchased.

Bottom line, age and or issues with the transport or importer storage have left this an aged, older, inoffensive but bland offering.

An interesting Saison with gin botanicals. It's nice to have real flavours and not extracts. You can taste the difference.

 

Good morning BAs! Stayed up late binge watching tv with Mrs. Z last night, so I slept in…usual dogs/kitchen duties done/Mrs. Z still sleeping…coffee time - BCB Mon Chéri (2019):



The Cellar clean out continues. My last bottle of this cherry classic. Bottled 25/Aug/19. Poured at 55°. Still a lot of cherries; boozy but not cough syrupy; I like cherries and I like this stout, but probably no need for further aging. Drink up Advocates.

Another mid 70s sunny day forecast here in SWFL. I hope to finish my taxes, then work some more in the camper today…we shall see…have a super Sunday y’all and Cheers!

Happy snowy Sunday BA's.....crazy, we got around 2" of snow here overnight.....kinda not diggin it.....ready for regular spring and warmer weather!

Went down to Columbus to visit with my daughter and her fiance Saturday (they leave on her b-day 3/30 / she turns 30 on 3/30/ to spend a few days in Western NC, etc) - nice brunch at Hoof Hearted, then a beer at Seventh Son nearby - C-bus craft beer game is top-notch!

Enjoying this tasty local'ish Maple Baltic Porter while I prepare to make some potato soup for lunch!

Coffee Eugene after shoveling the driveway. March came in like a lion and is going out like a lion. Hmm.

 

Back before the Pop the Cap Initiative here in North Carolina (2005)- a popular and eventually effective lobby to allow beers above 6%- Elephant had the reputation as being the :"strongest" legal beer available. It is an old favorite of mine also. The doorway to the Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen is book-ended by two huge elephants. The visit at Carlsberg was truly first class.
