355 ml can served cold into a pint glass. Canned January 27, 2022.

Appearance - Pretty clear, rich golden color, with some bubbles and capped with a finger of white head. Moderate retention time and sparse lacing.

Smell - Juniper and gin botanicals for sure. Unusual for the style but the aromatics are sufficiently intense. Definitely tartness and hints of lemon too.

Taste - A little tartness, for juniper and such, then bitterness and finishes rather grainy. Some gin botanicals in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - A little on the heavy side, carbonation is modest, but a little coarse and not super smoot. Carbonation is quite light for a saison which are often very fizzy.

Overall - Interesting beer, some new or underused concepts, it's definitely not a true or classic saison and the flavors are strange, but given all that I still liked and enjoyed it. One's enough, but glad to have tried and will check out what other interesting brews this newcomer to the beer scene has in store.

Pours a very lightly cloudy, light honeyed-yellow. Finger thick bubbly white head appears and dissipates fairly quickly.

If you whiff hard, you can get some gin botanicals in here. Some juniper and pine. I’m confident in rating this beer since gin was my first love and I have had them all, even esoteric old tom’s from across the sea! I do wish the gin botanicals were stronger. There are a lot of hop flavours that would meld so perfectly with them, it’s almost bonkers nobody has capitalized on it before. Light funkiness, more in the grassy hay direction than barnyard. Gentle grains and malty notes.

From the name on the can, you’d be forgiven for expecting stronger flavours. It finishes smooth and clean, as clean as a lot of refreshing gin drinks — it’s just that the flavours are not remotely close to one. Grassy and grainy, indistinguishable floral hoppiness to the profile. Low to almost no bitterness, there is some gentle citrus tastes. There is some juniper and gin like flavours, but they lack any pine-y punch. A light yeasty doughiness in the background.

Semi-dry finish, light bodied, the alcohol provides just the slightest touches to make the body of the beer just a little thicker than typical. Very, very clean finish with medium carbonation, starts and ends effervescent and smooth. Very pleasant mouth-feel

On some levels, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t a bit disappointed. Seems to me a lot of NA Saisons are basically just crisp, light bodied beers compared to Belgian ones, and the juniper flavours are not as pronounced as you’d like. That being said, it is a crisp and unique tasting beer. For the price tag I’d hesitate to buy it again but it was unique enough that I don’t regret purchasing it. If you like subtle fresh flavours, if you enjoy strong beers with clean easy drinkability, this is a really good choice.

Poured a 355ml can into a pint glass. A one finger head on a hazy yellow amber. The head soon diminishes to a thin layer.
Mild citrus in the nose.
Juniper up front. Coriander and orange. A bit of a Wit crossover. Mild hop finish.
Medium body and carbonation.
A nice clean Saison. A interesting botanical mix, bringing Gin and Wit botanicals to a Saison. well worth a try.

December 22 beer from Nita’s 2021 Beer Advent Calendar
Pours a clear gold colour and headless. Tangy and tart on the nose. Belgian-like spiciness and a bit sour on the taste. Not much gin/tonic flavour in this flavoured beer
