Today's WBAYDN once again comes from Casterton in western Victoria on a wet but warm Easter Sunday here in Oz.

There's a roaring fire to ward off any chill that might be eyeing me off, and another big stout to warm my cockles.

This one is from the Netherlands' Uiltje Brewery; a sweet stout called Grandson. The blurb on the can indicates something about a grandson left alone and fending for himself. If he's drinking these while waiting for grandpa to come home I suspect grandpa might be pouring him into bed upon arrival...

    Cheers!

Back from some Easter egg hunting. After seeing bunnies in the morning it's time for pink elephants?

    Happy Easter!

    Samichlaus Classic
    2016 750ml Limited Edition bottle,
    Bought a Zipps
Plenty of carbonation left in the bottle, it looks good
Smell? not so good. half rotten prune
taste? ok it's drinkable, not that sweet as when fresher, odd flavor
    I will give it a 3.62/5

    Lets move on to this:

Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting today's thread.

Got a dusting of snow overnight - winter isn't over here on the NW PA tundra - not until June. Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I bought because of the label "Barrel Aged". Bluntly, I find Great Lakes Christmas Ale disgusting, but maybe, just maybe, barrel-aging will make it palatable.

And....it doesn't. But I discovered what does! 15 seconds on high in the microwave makes this drinkable if not desirable. All these years I've been drinking Great Lakes Christmas Ale too cold - 70 degrees seems to be the sweet (or at least tolerable) spot. Anybody else use a microwave to bring beer to the proper temperature? You can bury me now - I've made my contribution to the wonderful world of beer! Rating 3.48, rDev -15.7%.

Good morning, BAs! I grabbed a new-to-me ESB to review for New Beer Weekend, thinking I'd start the day light, but it turns out that this one still clocks in at 6.5% ABV - on the higher end of the scale for the style.

Some FL Weisse before hittin' the trails; nice tart wake-up. And saw the moonset of the Pink Moon too just over the Front Range... wish I had my phone with me as it crested over (quickly).
    Get out there! And cheers!
