Please. Can anyone suggest an coffee forward beer? Because, I haven't had one since the coffee bomb 2018 KBS. Ok, in 2020 i got lucky to pay 1/2 price for the 2018 Founders CBS bomber $13.50 i got the last two, And, even 2 years in, dry, coffee, amazing, What an joke craft beer has become. Have you had the RIDICULOUS, Wake up World Wide Stout? Are we afraid to make an coffee forward beer? Not responding, gotta make dinner, have an good night, all. X5k, out.

Can't help you, but I see a lot of coffee beers out there and pass them by. Usually beers I would buy if they weren't made with coffee, aged in whiskey, aged on cocoa nibs, yada yada.
    White stout?
    I don't drink them.
I like my beers adjunct free for the most part.
Just give me a solid we'll made stout or porter & I'm happy. No additives or odd conditioning vessels.

Most of these beers are probably an all malt base, therefore adjunct free. Although, they may have additives you don’t care for.
On a lighter note, Blonde Porter from Perrin has a very notable black coffee flavor. On a darker note, there is quite a list but I would start with Cafe Deth from Revolution or more widely distributed, Founders Breakfast stout. I could go on with locals that produce stouts with great coffee flavor but you probably have no access to them.

I think a coffee stout is a common staple for a lot of breweries today. Have you checked any breweries near you to see what they might have?

    Cheers.

Yes, I'm trying to locate an single of this ... I just hate spending 4 pak prices for something that may, or may not, be average, at best. Like I said, coffee stout is an non existent style anymore. What happened to 2013 WnB? (i think 2013, look at my best of list). Coffee bomb. Years ago, Saucony Creek made an AMAZING coffee bomb, then the owner cried the next year when the next year's version was NOT coffee forward ... and I pointed it out. My point is, WHAT ARE WE AFRAID OF?

Yes, FBS is never bad, and always worth the $2 i generally pay for it ... but, has NOT been an coffee bomb since maybe, I wanna say 2016? When I was unemployed for the first time (longer than one week) in 30+ years? .... point is, BIG MONEY buys Founders and what are we afraid of? Coffee? yes, will have my coffee tomorrow AM, ya'll have a good night! And I'm not Southern.

I see that you are in PA. Have you tried any Imprint Beer Co.’s Origins offerings?

Goose Island Bourbon County Coffee Stout returns on Black Friday. One of the OGs of the style.

I’m not sure if these are still around but Founders had two others, Sumatra Mountain Brown and a bourbon barrel aged version, Underground Mountain Brown. Both were great.

I went to a brewery recently for brunch and they mixed some iced coffee into their brown ale. That was delicious. You could probably try that at home.

You know, I never thought that SMS was all that coffee forward. But it is definitely worth a try.

I could be misremembering SMS. Guess I'll have to hunt some down to refresh my memory.

@RacerX5k, what part of PA are you in?

Does Bell's still make their Java Stout? That seemed to have a pretty pronounced coffee flavor and aroma, if I recall.

Founders KBS Espresso (if you can find it) might do the trick for you. Seeing your familiarity with Founders, maybe you've had it already.

I hear you there. Coffee stout was (and is) one of my favored styles. And 10 or so years ago there were plenty of them.

I will second this re. Sumatra Mountain Brown and Underground Mountain Brown. Both for being great (and coffee forward) and also maybe not being around anymore.

Revolution Supermassive Cafe Deth, Eagle Park OCC Costa Rica, 3F Crushing Mass, & Lagunitas Willetized. All come to mind off the top of my head.

If you let FBS age for a year+, the chocolate comes out a lot more* and starts to become the dominate flavor. The beer becomes more of a chocolate stout with coffee highlights. Or a mocha stout.

*I know, I know - it is probably really the coffee fading over that time

no such thing as a coffee forward beer.

unless you're a weirdo that adds sugar to his coffeee... the only thing i have had closest to one was Espresso IRS from Stone and 2014 Americano Stout.

All the rest are on the sugary side but sorta pay Homage to coffee.
Cafe Del Bastardo is a good one
