...what I found even more interesting is @vabeerguy had a bottle and rated it......then, too, Mike and Don always had a great banter going on in WBAYDN?, so why shouldn't he have gotten a bottle, too (from @danmullens I'd guess)...

Day 3, I could get used to this view …..

This is our 6th trip to Aruba, and our favorite place to visit because it’s always around 90 deg F during the day with a nice breeze (so you’re not basting in your own juices) and 70 deg F at night (perfect for walks on the beach).

I’ve muled beer here for every trip except the first one, and this beer from @woemad is working exceptionally well after a day at the pool and beach.

Pours a mildly hazy golden color with a fluffy white head and minimal lacing. Lots of candied orange and mango on the nose, which I really enjoy.

The candied orange blends perfectly with the mango to provide a juicy, tropical, flavorful NEDIPA that doesn’t drink anything like an 8.1% ABV beer - and the medium mouthfeel further disguises the ABV.

Truly a pleasure to drink, this is one of those “sit down and smash a couple of pints” beers that I love, especially after a day in the sun.

This is a spoiler alert for Tim, but Terry's wrap job reminds me of what my big plan for one of the mystery beers was going to be: Rolling Rock. It felt too appropriate (for those not involved in the BIF, this particular iteration references RR in the adopted name). I thought that would be a fun can to wrap up and see what a truly blind analysis yielded. Unfortunately, the only available Rolling Rock in my area was in full 30-pack cubes, and ultimately I didn't feel the gimmick/joke was worth having to figure out how to dispose of 29 Rolling Rocks myself.
Apologies to anyone else in the BIF if I just blew one of your secret mystery beers!

And you managed to find one with actual carbonation!!

Sorry. I absolutely love it. So fruity and piney.

I posted this then headed outside for some chilly fall yardwork with out thinking about saying more.

    Cheers!

I am working on erasing my PS 4, because I got a PS 5 and have transferred all the data over. Time for another beer, and this is from a generous trade with @MonDak_Joe1953

Hop Bine - American Pale Ale - Buck's Mill Brewing - Detroit Lakes, MN - 5.8% ABV

This is also a fresh hop beer, according to UT.

Very earthy flavors that come in here. I do get some pine also, which I like in this style. I don't drink enough fresh hop beers (being seasonal and all), but I am a fan when I do. Happy to have tried this one.

Amber colored pour with a 2 finger slightly off white head. The head retention is pretty good, and there's some lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The aroma is hops, as expected. The hop aroma is slightly earthy and dank.
Taste - Earthy, and dank from the fresh hops. There's a bit of sweetness that comes in and there's also bitterness as well. Some pine in the mix.
Body is decent. The hops do stick in my throat.
Overall this is quite delicious. Quite impressed.

I will see if I can pull out one more today, cheers!!!

Alright, well all this talk of mystery beers has me inspired: I'm going to grab the can in my fridge wrapped in tin foil and sealed with llama-based duct tape from non other than @WunderLlama himself.
    Here goes.

The can says two things: "It's a mystery beer from WunderLlama " and "Do a full pour."
OK. I can do a full pour, I've just got to find a large glass...

    ...

    ...oh my.

    ...

I'm not sure I've ever had green beer before! OK, this is kind of in the chartreuse range of green/yellow, but it's easily the most green I've ever had (shoutout to Ruby Rhod). The picture honestly doesn't do it justice.

So, yeah. The pour is a chartreuse green. Very thin, with a fluffy white head that dissipates to a simple paragraph pretty quickly. No lacing.

Nose is mineral and citrus up front... It honestly kind of reminds me of the lemon/lime E-Mergen-C packets. As it sits, there is an emerging sweetness and tartness that remind me of gummi bears and very faint hint towards wild character, respectively. Wait, no, it reminds me of spree. The candy. Huh.

Flavour is in that same realm... it's reminiscient of spree candies mixed with E-Mergen-C. Sweet, but like a tart sweet, again bringing me back to the candies.

Body is oily and a little thicker than expected given the rest of it... honestly almost kind of disconcertingly so, ha. Carbonation is sharp and augments the citrus and the tart of the beer(?). Finish is tart, and does nothing to dissuade the lemon and lime spree candy impression.

I have absolutely no idea where to even begin in classifying this beer. My guess is that it would be considered a kettle sour, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was actually brewed with candy, and I'm not sure if that has earned it's own substyle at this point.
This has to be one of the most unique beer's I've ever had the honour of trying.

Thank you, Maynard for stumping me with this, and for expanding my mind!!!

As I'm hanging out at work (where most of my beer stash seems to be these days), I had to surrender the komputater while a coworker wrote a recipe for a new brew. I coped by going up to the bar and having a couple beers. Now back with another from @beergoot, Double Overhead in The Green Room, from Aurora Brewing. Now, since beergoot is in Colorado, I automatically thought Aurora brewing would be in, well, Aurora Colorado. Nope. As a native of Upstate NY, I thought Aurora NY (near Buffalo) wasn't even a possibility. Which it wasn't.

But now, imagine my surprise to discover that they're actually in King Ferry NY, about a 90 minute drive from my native Williamson NY, is the home of this brewery. Weird. That town is the literal definition of the phrase "wide spot in the road". If a brewery can make it there, a brewery can make it anywhere. I found the above brew to be a typical murkster, but the connection makes it worthwhile: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/45871/624569/

Pours a dark, opaque brownish black body; huge head, dense and semi-creamy with rolling mounds of foam (4.25). Coffee permeates the smell; grain char with a bit of cocoa (4.25). Coffee dominates the taste; nice dark malt base; very bold coffee bitterness - like espresso (4.25). Medium-heavy body; silky smooth offset with a light touch of caffeine abrasiveness; sweet base malt feel with a touch of coffee bean dryness (4.0).

Scores in parentheses were my impressions for a mystery beer, part of NBW BIF #16. No overall was given, but thinking it might be a coffee brown ale, I would have given this a 4.25.

Right off, a big coffee nose hits the senses. This is a great looking beer and tastes fine, too. What is missing is the beechwood smoked malt. The coffee just overwhelms the smoke, so a minor ding on the overall score, but as a porter coffee beer, this is pretty awesome.

...I got the beer through Tavour but the backstory is I don't recall ordering it as hazy IPAs just aren't my thing...on top of that, even if I did order it, I wouldn't have ordered six cans (I generally order only two of a beer that I really want)...I contacted Tavour about cancelling that beer which they said they would (although only refund 50% of my money as the cancellation was past the 48 hours or whatever they normally give to cancel)...so I got a 50% refund but they still sent the beer...!!!...and I still found it to be better than most "murkster" beers I've had...

...any who, I have some to spread around, so interesting that there was a sort of Repo Man 'lattice of coincidence' for you...

Hey! You know what, I actually feel pretty damn good about my analysis there! Second Wind Brewing Co - Power Sour Ecto Cooler. They list it as a kettle-soured ale with electrolytes (you know... what plants crave!). So I was actually more spot on with my E-Mergen-C comparison than I was with the Spree candies, despite that being my final guess. But this was a super unique one and I can see why it makes a good mystery beer!
Now, if only the share date had been two weeks ago!!

Another touchdown (or goal) for Schilling Beer Co. of scenic Littleton, New Hampshire, Landbier. Labeled as a Rustic Lager, this European Pale lager is highly guzzle-able.
    Cheers.

    Brewery notes;
Agrarian-style lager of Franconian origin brewed with spelt—and for the first time in North America, by Schilling’s brewers—with nearly extinct strain of lager yeast just revived from the cellars of Weihenstephan in Munich. Notes of strawberry, and hay abound with a hazelnut-like dry finish.

A sturdy pour from a 16-oz. can yielded a finger of soapy white foam that slowly became rocky and then shrunk to a lasting cap leaving behind thin rings of lacing. Clear dull yellow straw color with extremely small rising bubbles.

A perfect blend of bready (dough, fresh baked and toasted) malts and floral hops greets the nose. Grain and grass with some apple juice and a hint of citrus featuring lemon join in.

Neutral (at first) with average bitterness, as in the taste bready malt and floral/citrus hops prevail. A little juicy but not as much as the smell suggests. A faint Kolsch-like white wine taste appears. The end of the taste is semi-dry but not crisp, bitterness rises a bit with added spice. The finish is a quick and even withdrawal of all flavors except for briefly lingering hops.

Very light bodied with plenty of lasting carbonation, exceptionally smooth and easy to drink. In spite of the light body and lowish ABV, a thin but sturdy malt backbone exists. Again, I must mention the smooth and clean finish, outstanding. Warms well and remains lively carbonated throughout.
