Dismembers Only. An imperial stout brewed by 3 Floyds.

Shrimp was on the menu tonight. We had some frozen shrimp delivered as part of a box of seafood and various meats. As we thawed the shrimp it smelled horrible. Ended up throwing it away. Looks like chow tonight will now be anything I can scrounge up.

We sure did. In addition to that, we had almost as many private conversations. He helped me get through many a hard time. Truly a great guy and always an inspiring soul.

Mystery can received in BIF 16 from @russpowell , poured into an Ozark Brewing snifter

BrewersNotes: Imperial double cream stout aged in bourbon barrels for 8 months.

#3 ranked sweet/milk stout on Beer advocate

Bourbon Double Cream Stout (BDCS) is brewed with massive amounts of roasted malts, boiled with milk sugar, fermented with an ale yeast and then aged in fresh Kentucky Bourbon barrels.

Aroma is tobacco. My dad smoked borkum riff pipe tobacco which is a bourbon flavored pipe tobacco….bourbon barrel, brown sugar, dark fruits,…..taste is dark fruits, raisins, plum, brown sugar, ..low sudsing, sweet, delicious..i like it…hint of a very slight chocolate notes

Smooth , not syrupy but you realize there is booziness in this drink, a full body

delicious, enjoyable and repeatable,….might fine beer, recommended

Here you go. IIRC the ears are supposed to resemble Florida.

OMG! Yeah, the ears are indeed supposed to resemble Florida.

My partner remembers that one fondly. Not my best work, but definitely not my worst. :grinning:

Thank you for keeping it alive! D

Clever Girl. An IPA brewed by Triple Crossing. Last of the four pack. So sad. I should have bought more.

Long day, tired and hunkering down for the night and week ahead. It is cold and windy out so this beer from @Coronaeus felt about right; a port barrel aged barleywine from Barncat.

Barncat Artisan Ales - Sweet Release

Pours a dark and cloudy brown, I’d call it almost dark leather like, larger uniform bubbles for head; lingers in ring form.

The nose is a combination of cherry skin and oak, dark fruit like chocolate, hints of leather and unsmoked tobacco, a pleasant smelling beer.

The taste is very dark fruit driven again reminds me of dark cherry skins; the chocolate is still present as is a nice bit of oak.

Medium body, slightly thin and watery; a pleasant smooth and low carb. Slight oak tannin bite on the finish; zero hint as to the abv.

A good beer for a night like tonight, I’ll sip this slowly into the evening.

Hope everyone has a pleasant and good week, be well…see you all next weekend. Cheers everyone.

The worst thing that can happen with this attitude is, you drink a beer.

Well, OK, if I have to.......
I'm not sure I 'splained that right. I'ma pack and mail a box on the morrow. Even if this 750 would fit into the box alone, let alone with the others (remember, I still owe you food). So, at a minimum, one more USPS box, maybe two, or a Fedex box. Depending.

(PS, but don't tell @ovaltine , he'll be getting some of the same things, as part of his round 15 hit, let's not ruin his vacation).

[IMG] Poured into a 13 oz metal cup canned on 9/21/22. Pours a very attractive hazy yellow orange with a finger sticky white head that leaves streaks of lace with nice retention. 4.25

Aroma is mandarin, pineapple, peach, mango, and apricot. 4.25

Taste follows mandarin, pineapple, peach, mango, and apricot. 4.25

Mouthfeel is above average, not sticky or dry, soft gentle carbonation, and at 8% it goes down very easy with plenty of flavor. 4.25

Overall this one is pretty darn tasty, I would gladly jump on more of this if I am lucky enough to see it. Thanks @Ocalafox for this can. 4.25 Cheers all.

Glad you liked it. Yaya cans make me nervous in BIFs because they're usually not dated, like a lot of local brewerys' cans, so I just have to cross my fingers as to whether they're still sufficiently fresh.
As to that view, yeah, I suppose it's okay...

Nectar & Knife. A DIPA brewed by Triple Crossing. Last of the four pack. Also last Triple Crossing brew in the house. Worse yet. Last IPA in the house. This is not a good situation to be in Mike.

    Boo!
12 ounce can packaged on Halloween, 2022.

Moderate pour into a 4 ounce Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! glass yields a 1/2 inch tan head over a black body with some lacing.

Wonderful nose of espresso, dark roasted malts, bitter chocolate, and rye whiskey.

Taste mirrors nose nicely with all the aromas coming through with all their flavors.
Rye whiskey booze is prevalent throughout, especially on the finish.

Feel is very nice for the abv.

Overall, this was quite a nice surprise and would highly recommend to any coffee, whiskey, or stout drinker!
    Cheers!!

Mystery beer from @kemoarps in BIF 16. Here's my review prior to revealing the label.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark orange with an inch of head. The nose immediately screams barleywine to me, although perhaps a bit more fruity. Definitely getting some caramel. Plums, raisins, a minty note, apples, peaches, oranges, and some grass.

The taste is fantastic. Big notes of caramel and piny hops. American barleywine is my guess. A great balance of flavors. Tons of fruit as well - plums are dominant, with side notes of raisins, apricot, and orange. The hoppy notes become a bit more dominant with each sip. Pine needles, leather, grass, and a woody spice.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. The alcohol is definitely significant - gives a nice boozy burn on the way down. 12% ABV is my guess. I do not think this is barrel-aged, but if it is I'm guessing rye barrel. Great beer! Thanks, Kestrel! I'll open the envelope after I post this.

DFH Crimson Cru Red Ale - Pours a nice red color with a generous head. Smell is sweet with some yeast funk in there. Taste is alright, a bit of slightly sour/funk thing happening but overall not much going on here, a bit thin as well. As it warms it gets a bit more flavorful.

Worth trying and the 7.1% is well hidden but nothing special here at all and this single will be enough. Budmo!
