This sounds interesting but I wasn't going to get it. Thought it might be a little to off the wall. But @Rug gave it good marks and I trust him so here we are. Tree of Tranquility is a barleywine aged in Madeira and Sherry barrels and then conditioned atop pineapple and vanilla. It just sounds like there's a lot that can go wrong here right?

Tree of Bliss handled its additions of orange peel, coffee, and vanilla with subtlety, letting the barrels and barleywine shine. Here, the pineapple is very assertive, it is the primary focal point of all aspects in this one. Up front it is decadent desert, brown sugar caramelized on grilled pineapple and served with vanilla ice cream. Towards the finish it transforms into a tropical cocktail. The pineapple turns juicy while the wine barrels assert themselves. Tree House does barleywine extraordinarily well, this isn't my favorite but it does work well.

Respect your opinion, but I just can’t justify $18 on an adjunct barleywine. Especially one with a fruit like pineapple in it. Obviously a completely personal preference. I’m waiting very impatiently for them to release the next batch of Tree of Light. It’s on my mount rushmore

And I respect your opinion, it's reasonable to skip this at any price. It's an oddity for sure. Any other year I probably would have, but this is the year I gave myself permission to say yes to any and all barleywine. Not many regrets so far and this wasn't one of them.

I won't encourage you to buy this, but Tree of Bliss is absolutely worth trying imo.

The first one's I tried were English and It's remained my favorite of the two. Props to the Ballantine Burton Ale that was rleased a few years ago, and a classic that I've had, a 1967 Thomas Hardy.

Drinking this right now. However, my label reads 18 months, not 2 years (24 months).

    My bad! Duh...

    It's great!

Bourbon, wood, tobacco, leather, black tea (?)/tannins, dried dark fruits (figs, dates, prunes, black cherries, raisins, apricots), grape skins, almonds (?), burnt sugar, molasses.

I'm glad that I have another bottle. :sunglasses:

Cheers to Jackie O's for continuously dishing out these outstanding and very reasonably priced barrel aged Barleywines and Imperial Stouts!

Ryeway has been here before and is always welcome, that is a phenomenal beer. Is that the regular or a variant? I don't recognize the can art.

@BMBCLT has me craving Jackie, going with a Decorating Pieces of Time 2022. All bourbon barrels this year, no apple brandy in the mix. I asked for mod help and they declared this a new beer. Thanks and good call @mactrail

Huge booze soaked dates dominate this one. Burned brown sugar, vanilla, toasted macadamia nuts, butterscotch, overripe pears, and more round out this decadently sweet treat. Bit of a shame about the brandy barrels but I'm still enjoying the hell out of this.

Gratitude - Bourbon Barrel Aged. Compliments of @adrock314 in a recent trade.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a murky orange/brown with minimal head. The nose is incredible. There is a clear influence of bourbon here, compared to the base barleywine. Toffee, vanilla, citrus peel, plums, honey dew, a bit of leather, almost a touch of smoke, yeast, and a bit of pears.

The taste outmatches the nose. Sweet toffee, bourbon, vanilla, leather, almonds, citrus peel, a bit of booze, raisins, plums, nice malts, and bread.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. The aftertaste is primarily sweet, but there is a touch of citrus peel there. Overall, a great barleywine that has some really nice barrel influence.

Rye Barrel Brick Kiln Barleywine from Jackie O’S. 12.7% English style barleywine that is heavenly. I’ll save half for tomorrow and NBW. Cheers!
