Interesting, I've never tried a can. I wonder what the issue is with their canning program

Another can selection from the cellar, this one from my #2 in terms of breweries in within city limits.

Spiteful Brewing Barrel Aged Hostile Harry Cinnamon Bun (2020)

Decided to pass on a formal cellar review as it is holding up nearly exactly to the review of this with one year in the can performed in October 2021.

I typically limit BA Stout purchases at this point to no additives beyond coffee and possibly coconut, but do like and will continue to buy the cinnamon in this beer complements the barrel and stout, versus overwhelming and taking pole position in terms of your experience. Spiteful is in the northern part of the city, next to Half Acre and not too far from another of my favorites, Dovetail. Worth checking out.

If you had to describe the mouthfeel/consistency of this is a few words, what would you say?

Can't say for certain, but I think I heard that they were canned by a third party from kegs. Could very easily be mistaken though.

The mouthfeel is great. Much fuller/thicker than you'd expect from an 8.5% ABV Imperial Stout.

FF's 8-8.5% ABV Imperial Stouts are as thick or thicker than some in the 10-11% ABV range. I'd say it's thicker than Ten Fidy. Definitely thicker/fuller than Old Raspy.

    Cheers!

4pks of BCBS were discounted to move but Jack Pine - Deadfall was shaking its cans in my direction.

It's not thicker than a snicker, but if you slam it really fast, straight from the can, it'll get the job done quicker!

This is a weird one. My brain keeps expecting it to be a stout when I sip it. I’ll allow it in here because it’s triple digits and barrel aged

Neither are the porters that continually get posted…

Except, Imperial Porters aren't that much different from Imperial Stouts.

Belgian Strong Dark Ale is not even close to an Imperial Stout. There's an appropriate place for that - Belgian Beer Appreciation Thread (2023)

I mean…that’s arguable but I was just making the point that it’s been established that other things besides stouts can and have been posted here.
