Picked up Salman Rushdie's new novel, Victory City, at Brazos Bookstore. Then wandered down the block to one of my favorite bars to start reading...Under The Volcano.

This is published only 6 months after that crazy guy attacked and stabbed Rushdie's eye out. The book was written and set to be published way before that, but all you are going to hear about is the attach. Not the book, which after the first 50 pages is incredible and up there with anything he has written so far. Saint Arnold Spring Bock in the glass, which is always great.

Under The Volcano also has better food than you would expect from a dive like bar, like this. Paulaner Hefe, marinated mushrooms, and some Empanadas.

From personal experience, the anxiety of both is worse than the process of both. Best to be on top of health as long as you can.

That's very true - the worst thing about a colonoscopy is the prep. The actual procedure is nothing because you're basically unaware of it until you wake up. My daughter will be driving me to and from the event.

Loved some of Rushdie’s recent social media posts showing the damage he suffered. Awesome that he has been able to continue with his writing.

Mrs. Hiwattowner was cooking tonight. Food was great. I was on dishwashing duty. Job done.

    Guitar tuned. Beer in glass.

Thanks Larry for the info, the H7 will certainly be one that I'll consider. I'm not planning on spending a lot in case it just doesn't work for me. Also I don't want to be worried about normal wear and tear like you mentioned. I'm pretty amp'd (yep, a pun) to give it a try....cheers....vann.

Among the many great things about the bar, Under The Volcano, is that they have great tastes. Well of coarse the name sake book, but very early Miles was playing. Early 50's Blue Note stuff, so I've got to spin that now as well :sunglasses:

    512 IPA is always great.

Miles' Blue Note Vol 1 spinning.

They are hard to find because of the demand - I ordered mine in January and didn't get it until September. It was well worth the wait! This is another really nice guitar for $600 - it has quality hardware and is a great player. I used this guitar for the Big Chill and this tune. I really like it and play it all the time. Just an excellent guitar. I used to have a Gibson DC model and this one is actually a lot nicer at a 3rd of the price.

This is also a great amplifier if you decide to go electric. Same amp I used to record that track. Plus it's an ultra cool looking amp.

If you want to spend more money on an amp, this one is killer - lush and full sounding.

Hey Vann, I have to tell you the back story to the Player Shopping Plaza.
I used to work with this guy, Johnny Le, he was without a doubt one of the funniest shits you ever want to meet. His usual greeting to everyone was Hey Playa! Every time we drive by that place I can’t help laughing out loud. It was one of those things at work where if people didn’t recognize his name you could say” you know the playa guy” and the person would say “ oh yea”
