    Erdinger weissbier na
...has a very vlear gold/light amber appearance
...Carbo and body are around medium.
...aroma is bread, toasted crust, earthy, floral, and something similar to clay
...taste doesn't stray too far from the aroma with a mild hop bite. Does have an earthy finish that lingers.
...na beers are tough to review for me but this only scored a 71 I think on ba. For me it was very enjoyable, didnt want a regular beer but this filled in very well[IMG]

Good afternoon fellow beer lovers. I have @Dimidiata to thank for my first beer of the day....Family Whistle from Sante Adairius Rustic Ales.

Pours a slightly cloudy gold color. Interestingly, this wasn't a gusher when I opened it, and the pour resulted in a relatively small head, but holy crap is this effervescent. The center of the beer is a non-stop jet stream of carbonation, resulting in an ever rejuvenating thing head. I've poured beers that basically exploded when I poured them, but never one that was so calm heading into the glass then so consistently energetic once in it.

Aroma is outstanding. Loads and loads of passionfruit, but with an oaky funk. Really, really good smelling beer.

Taste is also passionfruit forward, but that same oaky funk shows up here as well. Medium acidity and some barnyard funk add to the experience. Maybe a hint of lemongrass on the finish. This beer manages to be very fruit forward, but without seeming artificial and without sacrificing its core saison identify. A balance that most brewers can't pull off.

Feel is wonderful. Lively, but (and I know this sounds weird for this style), almost creamy.

Overall, this beer is outstanding. I don't even want to think of how many bottles of this I'd buy if I had easy access to it.

    Thank you, Christine.....this is delicious!!!!

I’d assumed I let this sit too long. I was wrong. This was very good.

Toppling Goliath x Bottle Logic Kaiju Clash BA Stout with Vanilla and Coffee.

Pours a thick deep dark brown with ample cappuccino head that dissipates fairly quickly to a thin ring.

Barrel hits the nose first. Sweet milky coffee follows with some chocolate and vanilla notes tagging along.

Taste follows closely. Barrel is strongest and carries through the sip. Creamy coffee, vanilla bean, milk chocolate.

This is full bodied. Thick without being syrupy. Enjoyable.

This was very good. I don’t think there has been much add-junk fade. Maybe the vanilla, I could see a little more of that being present earlier.

    Cheers!

Alus Darbnica Labietis - Gaismas Ragana

"Bronze Age" Braggot with lingonberry, cranberry, bog myrtle, meadowsweet and linden blossoms, from Latvia (8%).

Pours a cloudy, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of honey sweetness, floral and berry notes, with accents of tart cranberry.

Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and grassy hops, with a strong honey sweetness and lighter berry tartness, with notes of cranberry, as well as just a hint of citrus zest and some floral, herbal, slightly spicy accents, with just a hint of anise coming through. Finishes with medium sweetness and light bitterness, with some honey, cranberry, citrus zest and anise lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a really nice and very interesting Braggot that has got an excellent balance of honey sweetness, berry tartness, citrus zest and hop bitterness to it, while some floral, herbal and spice accents really flesh this out, lending a lot of character to it. This character actually kinda reminds me of some gruits I've had, with the inclusion of bog myrtle and meadowsweet, almost making this feel like a Gruit Braggot or something, which is kinda accurate, I guess, as this actually calls itself a Bronze Age Braggot.

Also, the relatively high ABV is hardly detectable here, not feeling overly boozey at all. Overall, this makes for a very enjoyable and interesting example of the style that is very well-balanced and has lots of character.

Lightly golden body, slightly cloudy; very light carbonation; decent head, white and sudsy with small speckles of foam dotting the glass. Very delicate aroma; lightly floral with subtle notes of apple and pear. Mild, subtle flavors; delicate grain background with low-key fruity esters. Medium-light body; soft and delicate residual sugar feel; semi-sweet character.

A nice pilsner featuring Nelson Sauvin hops, it manifests a general lightness and easy approachability.

Great googly moogly! Look at the ABV on those things. I'd be napping in very short order if I attempted such a duo. Hat's off to you @bluejacket74 - I may need a nap just reading about those.

They're only 12.7 ounce bottles. Nothing ridiculous but yeah, not drinking much else now. Just maybe one lower ABV brew. Don't want to feel too bad tomorrow morning

Central Waters Brewing Reese and Desist Stout. A peanut butter cup BA stout. By the only brewery I trust to pull it off. I drank it on tap at the brewery, then after a voyage home involving attempting to eat a Hardee's Monster Burger that ejected from the bun with all the toppings as soon as I put it close to my mouth while driving, I am drinking it out of the bottle at home. The guy in front of me in the bottle/can line at Central Waters Brewing said he was there for the 3rd time this week to purchase a case of this beer, so I was excited to try it. The color is pitch black with very minimal light brown foam. The smell is pure Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. And light bourbon. The taste is Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. And light bourbon. I don't know what else to say. They nailed what they were going for. The mouthfeel is oily, thick, creamy, silky, and smooth, with minimal carbonation. Overall this beer is what you think it is. If it sounds delicious to you, I believe you will think it is. If it sounds like something you would not like, you probably will not like it.

I'm just lovin' this hot hot hot brew. Cheers!
Kros Strain Hot As Helles Lager w jalapeno & habanero chili peppers. 4.8% ABV
    12oz can canned 11/?/22 into a 12oz Willie Becher.
L: Pours a 97% clear radiant light corn yellow w a thin fizzy white head that recedes to nothing quickly, some large carbo bubbles, no lacing. A standard looking Lager.
S: Light malts, vinous peppers, a hint of honey. Very clean.
T: Sweet malts, a gentle hop bite, fast pepper heat in throat and face, grains, a hint of corn, slightly earthy, a very lightly bitter and gently pale finish. Pepper veggie tastes do not linger.
F: Lightly crisp, glossy, smooth Lager feel that is clean and med-light bodied with intense pepper heat 3/4 of the way through each drink, a med-length finish w a quick drop off. Non-drying.
O: A pleasant tasting Lager with fast and bold pepper heat with med-light pepper flavors. I expected heat and this beer delivers just that. A legit hot pepper beer that is outstanding in its style.

As promised, before being distracted by bluejacket's astounding attempt at self pickling (and wishing I had done it first) I am back with an actual "New" beer.*
Last time this was released was 2019 and I had on tap and had a crowler to take to my SAN group. So technically it isn't new- but it is the first iteration of this with cognac barrels in the mix, so I think it qualifies.

I rarely drink IPAs this fresh, and aside from on tap, even less often with BA Stouts.
But Kosmicki has this dialed in so there is no harshness to age out or soften up. Yes, I know some people *like* that harshness but I am not one of them.
Poured stout black with a short but persistent mocha colored head that left scant lacing.
So far so good. Aroma, sorry all, my nose is out of order for the time being.
The taste; I never did find out what the base stout for this is, but I know it's not their RIS or what they but in the barrels for KBS. It's a different beast altogether.
The coffee and cocoa are very present, as well as the roasted malts, dark fruits and toasted bread. No harsh doesn't equate to sweet at all, it's almost savory. I don't think I've ever had cognac so can't tell if that is what I'm tasting instead of the typical bourbon barrel touches. There is definitely a barrel presence here, I simply can't define it.
The feel may be a touch thinner than I expected, but I sipped it nonetheless.
OA, I'd imagine if you are a fan of cognac and like stouts, this is your dream beer. I certainly enjoyed it.
    Cheers all!

I know nothing about this. It was on sale and said “lager” which is enough for me to try.

    Safe harbor - 1790 Lager

Dirty copper. Rust. Of white head. There was sediment which I poured in. Perhaps should’ve held it back.

Smells floral. With some soft fruity notes, malt.

Taste is the same. Malt sugar, fruit (apricot, plum), spice and herbal bitterness.

    Finish is short but lively.

Very nice offering. Plays estery with a fair amount of ale character. I’m gather it’s a colonial style - reminiscent of steam beers. Good offering in spite of the somewhat murky appearance.

La Quince Brewing Company - Kage

New England IPA with Mosaic, Sabro, Citra hops and mango, from Spain (7.8%).

Pours a cloudy, pale golden amber coloration with lots of tiny floaters and medium, fluffy head initially, turning a hazy, orange coloration upon final pour. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical, citrus hops, with notes of mango, papaya and grapefruit.

Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly herbal and dank hops, with tropical and citrus notes of mango, papaya, hints of coconut, grapefruit and orange, with just a hint of mint and herbal weed. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some mango, grapefruit and mint lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

When I bought this, I gave it the benefit of the doubt, mainly because of the stunning artwork, interpreting the BB-date as 9 months. However, I only later noticed the importer's sticker being identical to the BB-date and that's always one year. While I will admit that this is still surprisingly drinkable for an IPA that is over 6 months old, the hops do feel rather faded and this only maintains its good mango character because of the added mango.

There are vague hints of coconut, mint and grapefruit from the Sabro and Citra hops, although these feel kinda washed out and not well-defined, with a light bitterness in the finish as well. I don't bump up scores for old IPAs anymore. As far as I'm concerned, if you set a 12-month BB-date for your IPAs, you fully deserve the bad rating.

I somehow missed that they weren't bombers in the picture. It would have been a Herculean feat to solo those two as 750s!
So did you pick it back up and eat it anyway? I've made the mistake of trying to eat Big Macs while driving more than once. Rarely ends well (on several levels)
My favorite candy, yet I've never had a peanut butter beer I particularly enjoyed. Intriguing.
I'm man enough to admit that I'm not man enough for this beer.
No creative marketing necessary! Can't blame you. Lagers rock.
