Well Im back with another post for a new beer I am drinking. This is Tri City Brewing Mon Tresor Tripel. A 10.6% brew from this Michigan brewery. Kudos to @BigIronH for the swap and giving me a chance to try this brewery!! Also thanks for the note to decipher what was in these crowlers as the staff person who labeled them had terrible handwriting!

Was going to cross post this on the What Great Lakes Beer are you Drinking Now Thread.... But discovered that thread doesnt exist.... what's up with that @FBarber ?

    Onto my review:

Sampling this beer from a 12 oz crowler poured at cellar temp into my snifter. The beer was canned on 3-12-2023.
the beer pours a bright clear copper color with a fizzy bleached white head of 1 cm. This foam fades to the thinnest of edge layer. there are a few slow and lazy streams of carbonation rising towards the surface of the glass.
Aroma is mostly sweet fruitiness with some pear and apple notes with a bit of vinous white grape. No hop character here and the ABV is hidden , with no spicy black pepper or other fusol notes.
First sip reveals a medium to lighter body with very fine and prickly carbonation. There is a bit of sticky texture that coats my lips and palate on each sip.
Flavor is what I expected from the nose, although it is a little sweeter. I get apple, pears and white grape again, also a bit of spicy clove note. The finish dries out and lingers with some vinous white grape flavor. No boozy heat or spicy bite. Hops absent too.
This is a pretty nice tripel. The aroma is a little muted, but everything works here. Glad to have tried this one, thanks @BigIronH !

    Machine House - Barrel-Aged Barleywine

500ml bottle served in a tiny stein. Bottled April 2022.

Pours slightly hazy reddish-amber with a smallish head. Smell is lightly oaky, toffee, nuts, but somewhat hampered by the current condition of my schnoz.

Taste is very woody. Fair amount of vanilla, maybe a bit of toffee and nuts. Somewhat oxidized, but comes across more as cask conditioning than a flaw.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly light and super dry. Overall, nice English barleywine.

Well, back for my final round in this NBW thread, and again it's one thanks to the kindness of @WunderLlama .

    Citraquench'l - Heist Brewing - Charlotte, NC - NEIPA - 7.1%

My rating is quite below average for this beer, not because it was bad, but because I thought the aroma was way too light. The light aroma aside, the flavor more than makes up for it. Quite full of what I make out as tangerine in the flavor, and it keeps building as it lingers in my throat. Delicious as heck.

Juicy looking pour. The color seems a bit lighter golden. It really looks like a glass of pineapple juice, but with a very frothy and fluffy 2 finger white head. The beer has great head retention, and there's a good amount of lacing on the glass.
To be honest, I'm not getting much on the nose. It's a fairly faint citrus hop aroma.
Taste - There's a citrus flavor to this beer due to the hops, and I think it's tangerine that I'm getting from the hops. The flavor from the hops really keeps building in my throat, and on my taste buds. The flavor lingers in my throat, and I just keep tasting it.
The body is juicy and also has a crisp feeling. The hops linger in my throat, but they don't feel sticky, or like resin.
This is a delicious example of the style. The aroma was a bit of a let down, it is a bit over a month old, so maybe that plays a factor into it.

Well, I'd better stop with this one because I'd like to be functional tomorrow. There's a chance I may be called into work, so I will see you all down the road for the next New Beer Weekend.

New brew from Altamont Beer Works Livermore ,CA, They say Make beer clear again on the can. Its called Juice Above The Clouds, Its a 9% ABV WCIPA. Pours mostly clear golden color with a nice 1 finger head , Smell is grassy fruity with malt and pine. Taste follows the nose juicy with hops pine bitterness but soft caramel malts to balance ,I liked it a lot. Not overly bitter for the style but was present.

Likely my closer for the evening. For some reason I thought this was a 14% at first glance in the fridge. Nope, just a friendly 12.8%

    Founders - Sweet Repute

    Bottled on 11.20.22

Poured into a weizen glass at fridge temp

Pours a clear, almost true copper with a 1+ finger head that is fairly dense and creamy. 4

Aroma is sweet, strong with a heavy and boozy base. Some caramel comes to mind with perhaps a touch of fruit. 4.25

Sweet, caramel, maple and syrup. Finish is delightfully lingering with some alcohol heat and a touch of dryness. 4.5

Body is unassuming at first with very mild carbo, but gives way to a blossoming warmth and radiation as it goes down and settled. 4.5

    Overall it's everything I was anticipating and nothing that I didn't want/expect. What a delight of a Wheatwine 4.25

Back with my 4th new Czech Dark Lager of the weekend - this one is Jack's Abby Craft lagers - Bohemian Dusk. I will admit to saving the one I was most excited about for last ...

Pours a nutmeg brow color. Excellent clarity. Thick, frothy khaki colored head forms on the beer, lingers a moment, then dissipates completely. Thin splotches of foam remain on the top of the beer. Aroma has notes of bready malts, some light nutty notes, and some spicy, herbal hop notes.

Taste follows the nose with notes of bready malts, rich deep bready malts - that double decoction is showing out. Notes of rye bread, some nutty malts, and a touch of spicy grassy hops. Feel is smooth, rich, but easy drinking. Moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish.

Overall it's a lovely Czech dark lager. I would expect nothing less from jack's Abby.

    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.25 = 4.3 (rDev +5.7%)
