Good day BAs! It's starting off sunny and cool (37F, 3C) but is expected to warm up (62F, 25C) by this afternoon. My yard/swamp is beginning to dry up enough so I can walk on it.

    Today's Breakfast Beer:

I'm not a fan of blonde ales in general, but I am of terpenes, and this baby's got 'em! Delicious!
Rating 4.31, rDev +11.1%. Think I'll have another!

Morita Kinshachi - Nagoya Akamiso Lager

This is a herbed/spiced lager and I have to say that it is delicious. Aromatic, thick, and with a very well balanced flavor profile.

I'm with you. Not a big fan of blonde ales I'm open to suggestions when folks recommend good ones. Glad you enjoyed it! I will look for this.

My projects are done for today. I picked this up also this morning thinking I haven't had it before. Well I have. Oh, well. I think it's slightly better than last time I had it.

Peanut Butter Stout - Revelation Ale Works, Hallock, MN - Milk stout - 4.9% ABV

I've actually been to Hallock, MN once before back in the mid 90's when I was working in the political business. The Congressional candidate I was working for had a stop there, and it's a cool small town about 10 miles from North Dakota and Canada. I hope to make it to the brewery someday.

Just a note to mark the death of Keith Reid of Procol Harum. Reid was a great lyricist. This group from the 60s is powerful, inventive, and pure genius before us. A Whiter Shade of Pale is a haunting sonic remnant of my youth that still gives me the chills and transports me through the decades. It is a true anthemic classic and always beautiful. Magical. Almost picked Conquistador.

I'll listen to Conquistador after a few sips of Torpedo but A Whiter Shade of Pale is bound to linger with floods of memory like it always has. RIP and cheers!

Estrella Galicia (from Spain). Not really special (but pairs great with Spanish dishes when you don't like wine).
Ages ago, when I was 18 years old, I travelled through Spain by train on a very tight budget. The RailPas was prepaid. My diet was something like dry bread with some butter mostly. One time in Santiago I allowed myself a can of Estrella Galicia with my sober meal  Great memories.
    Cheers

I am now having a new beer, and another thanks to the ninja hit from @WunderLlama .

Calla Lily - Fidens Brewing Co. - Albany, NY - Imperial IPA - 8.4% ABV

While this beer is fairly hazy, it has a very pleasing bitterness in it. I really like the older school bitter IPAs, and this has some of it in it. Thank you for sending it to me.

This beer pours a juicy pineapple color. Very hazy and murky looking. The head is 2 finger, and mostly white with a hint of yellow in it. Very frothy and fluffy looking head. Head retention is decent, and there's a good deal of lacing on the glass.
Nose is mostly citrus, with some pineapple in it. I also get a slightly earthy aroma that pokes it's way into the mix.
Tons of citrus flavor going on here. Lots of pineapple and grapefruit. I am not getting anything earthy that I was getting in the aroma. There's a decent bitterness on the back that lingers in my throat.
The body is pretty full, and pretty juicy. It feels like drinking pineapple or grapefruit juice. Not extremely sticky feeling, but there's some there.
Pretty good overall, and a pleasure to try.

London Calling from Reuben's Brews iin Seattle. Brewed with British malts and British East Kent Golding hops. It also has a "newer UK hop variety called Jester," which seems to add the fruity notes. Highly quaffable, smooth, and delicious. This is another style that could benefit from the American interpretation and add to the lower-alcohol brews.

Short answer: you can’t drink all day if you don’t start early…

Lengthy answer: past a certain age you just don’t give a toss anymore and I assure you that drinking later in the evening isn’t too good for some of us. Hint: that damn prostate is pushing a bit and trigger toilets run in the middle of the night.

Disclaimer: I’m not American but I’m not immune to that shyte.

Hello BAs! Thanks @Ozzylizard for the thread here. My light-duty errands are winding down today and I enjoy melting snow scenery so time for this brilliant Utepils Minnator Doppelbock. Had one with grilled goodies a couple days ago and it was perfect. Nice to be outdoors and nice to be on the patio at the virtual bar. Cheers!
