South County is a good local option for IPAs, didn't know they did stouts until I saw this recently.

This was a very pleasant surprise, very coffee forward with intense dark roast notes. The bourbon was nicely incorporated while the vanilla was very subdued. Top notch stuff!

I'm in shock 'cuz everything I see has fruit, peppers, chocolate etc, etc. Its getting harder to find beer without added junk. That being said, having O'so's Narcissist.

    3.73/5 rDev -4.6%

Inky, oily black pour, small tan head, zero lacing, nose says chocolate, not much else, taste buds get the chocolate, a hint of vanilla. Thick, smooth and creamy feel, zippo in the carbonation dept. Not great, not bad, not memorable.

    Down to my last one
Been needing to hit FW for more for a while now , but prices are through the roof for other stuff and i can't justify it. I bought a 12 pack of SNPA the other day for less than the price of two of these:rolling_eyes:
I love me some BA FW tho

    Fonta Flora x Perennial Doppio

14% Imperial Stout Bourbon Barrel aged for 48 months (yes, four years!), then aged on Sump coffee. This is certainly oaky, given the extended barrel aging. That dries out the 14% substantially, which for me added to the drinkability. The coffee plays a complementary role here, I think I would like this either way but I think it was nice that the coffee didn’t overpower what the extended barrel aging is bringing to the table. I believe the story on this is that they forgot about these barrels that were tied to a previous collaboration with Perennial. Maybe it was 50/50 that these found barrels would have produced a drinkable beer but looks like it works!

Based on seeing what you post and have liked, I think this is right up your alley. A beacon in the world of syrupy junky candy stouts. If I had another would look to get it your way, hopefully someone can hook you up.

I only have one left and it’s sad. I know I should drink it sooner than later, but it’s a dopamine release to just see it in the fridge. Maybe I have a problem….

I have a bottle i recently acquired in a trade from former BA BMBCLT. It appears you really like this beer. If still rating it, what say you (how would your rate it)?
    Cheers!

More Willetized. For me, it’s at peak so down they will go. I cursed Lagunitas over the last year at times, but they scored big with this year’s batch. Cheers.

To each their own, but drop the hammer when at peak. I don’t experiment with beer I really like. Cheers and let’s see when they drop it again.

Enjoying Yeti aged in Laws barrels. Given the brief TDY in the barrels reveals only a complimentary role for balancing and a mild impartation of vanilla and bourbon. But somehow this beer is so delicious! This was a nice splurge on a cool rainy day. Rated 4.46.
    Cheers!

Might be the best $12 four pack around, besides Heady and Focal etc. I really enjoyed this beer and should have bought more when I was there.

    Enjoy
