What beer are you drinking now? #3892

Saturday evening in Japan. Sitting on a balcony and drinking some Purple Sky Pale Ale.

 

The freshest beer is one you brew yourself! Thus, I'm drinking a home brewed Imperial Rye Pale Ale. 9.75% ABV. Bottled 6/13/23.

 

I always look for Finback when I go on my Mass runs. This a collaboration RaR brewed with mandarin, blood orange, dry hopped with Citra and mosaic. A nice Saturday morning starter. Cheers all.

 

Might be a long day.

Okay, I'm super glad that I only bought a single of the above beer. It may be the worst beer I have ever had and there's no way that I'm going to finish it. On to something more drinkable.

First of two New Glarus beers planned this weekend.

New Glarus Pilsner



Full notes here, this is a good Pilsner beer from New Glarus, maker of many good beers.

Took advantage of the same cool morning that @ramseye4 did to do a long morning walk listening to a McMurtry radio playlist on Spotify. Making breakfast now with a gentle breeze coming through the windows and sipping on this find in a place that hadn't sold out of it like my normal stores. Aged a little longer on the shelf for me:

 

Now drinking Stone Peak Conditions DIPA.

 

A single can because the 6packs are also on a warm shelf. I reckon that it lost its luster, if it had any to begin with. Best by September 28th 2023.

Good day BAs! Running a bit late today since I've been to farmers' market and gotten some fresh asparagus but my hydroponic japanese veggies weren't there today. Starting my beer drinking with one from yesterday's box from @2beerdogs:

And... there's no image! Dammit - I KNOW I took one! Anyway, it's Darkstar November (2021), an imperial rye Stout (read RIS) from Bottle Logic and @2beerdogs. This is why I couldn't live in the Anaheim/LA area - I'd have mortgaged my house, car, wife, kid, etc for beer money.

Love this brew! Possibly the best I've had from Bottle Logic - just delicious! Bourbon-y, rye-y, chocolatey, maybe a hint of char and barrel-aging - just delicious! Rating 4.5, rDev +0.4%. Thanks Derek - you've helped an old reptilian reprobate enjoy the day!
