    Modist Illbrewminati Vol. 3 (4.8%): An Oak-aged German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of smoked meat, oak, baked bread malt. Smokey with a light bitterness.

    An oaky and smoky German Helles with some amber malts. Smooth, earthy, and lightly bitter from the smoke. The smoke is present, but not overpowering. I'm not a huge fan of smoked beers, but if any beer is going to open your palate to the style, this is a good one. Still, not my style.

    Downers Grove neighbors: hop slinger, Alter Brewing; and lager darling, Goldfinger Brewing, collaborated for a German pilsner inspired pale ale. It definitely works for me.
