Thanks. I actually just started waxing my bottles earlier in the year, so I don't have enough experience with it to say yes or no. However, I'm looking forward to finding out. I have yet to see a definitive answer whether it helps or not. I figure it can't hurt. It's inexpensive and not time-consuming at all, so I figure it's worth a shot.

Any good places to get better boxes for storage?

Where did you get the wine cooler? Are they all configureable to upright? My biggest thing with not getting one of those coolers is that you have to lave everything down....I currently have a Beverage Air commercial fridge, but it's large and noisy...I love it, but its causing rifts with the GF.....

I think I just figured out how to post pictures. Not the best pic but you get the idea. I bought a used commercial fridge and temp controlled it. Holds about 50-70 bottles per shelf depending on the size of the bottles.

I actually haven't had it this year but as of last Dec it was drinking incredible. I have one bottle left and was holding out on it until I heard if/when they'd do it again because that thing is so good...but I fear waiting to long so it'll probably go down at my next tasting.

They are actually two separate units. One is a "beverage cooler" that I keep set at 50 degrees F. The other is a wine cooler that I keep set at 53 degrees F. I bought them both at Lowe's and they are both extremely quiet. As far as being configureable to upright, are you asking if they can be stacked?

I mean are the shelves configurable to keep the bottles upright. I thought wine fridges were designed to lay them down

Finally got unpacked from my move from CA back to the midwest. After 4 years in CA, I managed to drink down a large portion of my "cellar". Everything left managed to make it onto one shelf:

Only things not pictured are a couple of kegs I am cellaring and a 3L of EC eclipse from a year ago.

That is a hell of a lot of Eclipse. There's got to be 30 bottles and $1,000 worth of Eclipse alone :sunglasses:

Indeed...all of those are pre-2012 (except coffee). Definitely a case of buyer's remorse. I never wish I would have bought that many over the years. Thet don't get Eclipse in Indiana...so hopefully it will be easy to find takers here.

Nope...in Indiana they will fill growlers from any brewery...so I brought home my RR empties. That's one thing about the CA beer scene that I will not miss...having an arsenal of brewery specific growlers. Just kept the flip tops and recycled most of the rest.

Is that because you don't like how it ages?

For the most part...plus I bought pretty much all of the variations. At this point, I still like EC, EW and FR with some age. The others don't get much better in my opinion.

It appears I'm the only one that keep my cellar beers in cases...I'm just uneasy about having the loose bottles sitting on a shelf, especially when I go to move them around and grab some from the back. Is there a reason other than "I like to look at my bottles" that people DON'T keep them in cases?

Your cellar would even look more amazing if you didn't slay some whales from the farewell party. Thanks for your generosity. Hope you can make it back to CA.
