    Good afternoon NBW
I was gifted this for Christmas. I actually had to enter it in the database.

    Breakaway Blonde Ale

12oz bottle enjoy before notch June poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 4.7% ABV 15 IBU per label. The beer pours bright pale blonde with minimal nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and scattered bubbles. Aroma is mild with lemongrass and citrus atop nondescript malt. The taste is bittersweet pale malt with a strong coriander or lemongrass flavor and moderate bitterness for the body / malt presence. Thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, average and uninspired.

    Cheers all!

Light doesn't pass thru this dark brown liquid with a small brown head, maybe a wee bit of lacing. Nose says chocolate, roasted malts, caramel. Taste buds enjoy the caramel, plum, raisin flavors. Not quite what I'd call chewy but close. Big fan of BA stouts, this is my first from Tequila Barrels.

Day 2, I picked up a 4-pack of this when I was in Albuquerque a couple of weeks ago and visited La Cumbre. I’ve been looking forward to this one.

    Merry Christmas, NBSers.

Pours a crystal clear pale straw color with a sudsy white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Looks beautiful in the glass. The nose phase some grass and subtle lemon from the hops and cereal grain. I’m not getting a lot of corn.

The grassy flavor leads the taste, with a bit of lemon that is quite nice, with some cereal grain and maybe a smidge of corn that is a subtle sweetness at the back of the palate.

The mouthfeel is clean and crushingly crisp, making for a very drinkable Mexican lager. I’d love to have a couple of pints of this with a Stuffed Sopaipilla covered in Hatch chilies from Sadie’s in Albuquerque.

We only had 1 dish, but I don't think there is much overlap. They serve Nepalese food too, from the restaurant's website

Bhutan- A small country in the Himalayas. Their typical dishes are cooked with cheese. The national dish of Bhutan is the ema datsi, which means chili pepper and cheese. Yes!! That dish IS SPICY SPICY SPICY!

Nepal- Country situated in the Himalayas. Nepali food is similar to Indian. One of the many staple dishes they have is called Thali. Thali means plate. Its a tasting platter that consist items such as a sweet, sour, salty and spicy–overall a balanced meal!

I made a bad protein choice, I didn't like the texture of the dried pork belly. Should have gone with chicken or pork shoulder. The sauce was wonderful, perfect for the rice and veggies. We are absolutely going back for the lunch buffet.

Pours an oily black color with a mocha colored head that is eager to leave the premises of my glass. Gorgeous impy stout. The nose has loads of rich milk chocolate, oak barrels, and booze, but all in balance, which is impressive, IMHO.

The taste is so balanced, from the pillowy milk chocolate flavor up front, to the mellifluous (I know that’s an auditory term, but it jumped into my beer nerd brain as I was enjoying this beer) cadence of the oak barrels and booze that finishes this decadent beer.

The mouthfeel is full and carbed on the lighter side as expected in these big stouts. This is exceptionally well done by the brewery that invented this style. What a pleasure it is to savor this magnificent beer.

Bright Light City from Radiant Beer. Yet another IPA worth trying from the depths of southern Calif. Tastes of lime, orange peel, and lemon pie. Rather sweet and malty, but a happy combination with all the hops. Clean and fruity flavor. Rather bitter aftertaste, but the sweetness stays along with it.

Sky Dance Second Anny Hazy IPA, 8.0 abv; 4.12 overall

Pours a hazed gold with a finger of cream colored head. Some head retention & lacing

S: Melons & white grapes, nectarine once warm

T: Follows the nose, pomelo, peaches & dryness up front. Dryness, green melon, white grapes, nectarines & passion fruit as this beer warms up. Finishes with melon sweetness, a hint of tangerine, white grapes & dryness

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, nice balance

Great drinkability, was hoping for a little more from these guys, but this ain't no slouch

Sampling a new beer tonight prior to wrapping gifts etc. This is Matchless Brewing out of Tumwater Washington and their The Jacket Porter, a 6% english porter. Sent to me in a swap by @zdraco Thank you for the opportunity!

    onto my review:
Sampling a 16 oz can at cellar temp and pouring into a snifter. Date stamp on label is 5/8/2023.
The beer pours a rich cola brown and a dense creamy and soft beige head of 2 cm foams up. This foam fades to a sturdy surface covering and leaves some tight lattice on the glass when I swirl or take a sip. I also note a bit of garnet highlights when I hold my glass to a light source. Beer looks nice as a porter.
Aroma on this beer is dark chocolate, bakers chocolate, no sweetness and hints of roasted malt too. Maybe hints of a light grassy hop note, but primarily dark chocolate and roast on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body and very smooth texture and soft and gentle carbonation. Physical traits makes this an easy drinking beer.
Flavor is similar to the nose with roasted malts and bakers chocolate, a little bit chalkyness like a hot cocoa powder comes through. Never any hint of the ABV on this beer and the hops are buried on the flavor profile. There is a little bitterness, but its dark chocolate or coffee ground bite not hop notes.
Nice straightforward porter without any additives or flavoring. Pretty solid and drinkable!

    Happy Christmas Eve everyone!

I picked up several beers to join the holiday beer weekend and this was one of them.
Purchased a single of this hoping that a Brewery known for putting out good beers would do this one well. According to some, they nailed it, and I think it was pretty good, but not up to the standards I generally hold for them.
Pours stout black and sported a short lived beige head which left zero lacing.
The aroma is lost to my Covid affected nose.
The taste is caramel and metallic vanilla (great name for a band!) with some cardamon making brief appearances.
The feel, for a milk stout, is thin. Not sure how they did that.
OA, I could finish a 6 pack if I needed to but happy I just got the single.

Amber on the pour but dark brown in the glass. Almost zero head. Aroma is rich and boozy with loads of caramel.

Taste is caramel, toffee and faint tobacco. Sweet, but not as much as the nose. Alcohol makes its presence known, but it's fairly discrete except for some really nice alcohol warming on the finish.

    Overall, very nice barley wine.

Bought this old, I think about 5 years or so on it. We don’t get this stuff in CT anymore but I occasionally see it on shelves.

Sweet and clean. Toffee. Apple and caramel. Malt sugar.

Taste is balanced. Malt leads early. Soft but pronounced. Hint of alcohol. Menthol perhaps. Leads from there into some hop character. Ex-bourbon barrel comes through.

Tasty. Barrel sort of lingers so I can’t point out when the beer finishes. Maybe it doesn’t? Decadent but beats a stout for my palate. Very approachable and great with some lamb right now

Yet another December new-to-me dark beer!

16 ounce can with no discernible date, although we rec'd a case earlier this month.

Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a near black body with scant lacing.

Nose of roasted dark malt and slight chocolate malt with a slightly burnt character as well.
As it warms a bit of milk chocolate aroma comes through.

Taste is very roasty, with flavors of bitter chocolate, burnt toast...
and slight bitter dark roast coffee (?)

Average to good feel with low to medium carbonation.

Overall, if you like extra roasted anything, this is right in your wheelhouse.
I kinda like it more as it warms and loses some of that burnt roastiness.
    Cheers!

The head recedes to a thin ring and island leaving a web of lacing. The aroma is mild with stone fruit and citrus. The taste is bittersweet with blurry pine, citrus and fruit. Moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, good, not great.
