Just joined. Pabst Blue Ribbon is my go to beer, but I`m always trying other brews.

Welcome! Wisconsin is a good place to try other brews! Not to mention a field trip to Chicago...

No , I haven`t. There`s been such a explosion of new breweries over the past decade it`s hard to even keep track of them.
Pabst, Blatz and Schlitz are gone, (although those beers are stilled brewed in Milwaukee at the Miller brewery), but the big ones have been replaced by dozens and dozens of small breweries.

I used to live in Milwaukee but moved out to New Berlin. Lots of great breweries in and around Milwaukee; be sure to check out Supermoon in the Bay View neighborhood....for my money the best brewery in Milwaukee.

I just think Lakefront Brewery does a Great job!
And, City Lights Brewery is a sleeper that gets overlooked.

No problem with Lakefront Brewery; they do good things and have built quite a nice space.

Respectfully disagree on City Lights. Fantastic space, especially in the warm months but the beer is hot garbage. Anywhere that serves me a Hazy IPA that is crystal clear needs to figure it out.

Enjoy exploring the many breweries in the area!

    But not for much longer

...as Pabst moves their brands to the City breweries. Even losing Old Milwaukee - again :astonished: (for most of the '80s and '90s, it was a Stroh brand and brewed in their breweries around the country).

Maybe Molson Coors will resurrect Gettleman's $1000 Beer again, like Miller did in 2007.

    YES

    I know.

I`m curious how that will change any of the tastes in those brands.

The major ingredient in beer is Water. I`m used to drinking beers made with water from Milwaukee. Which happens to be very good water.

La Crosse has been brewing good beer for at least a century. So, I`m hoping for no big changes.

Percentage wise - yeah. But it doesn't really have much affect on taste of beers from modern macro breweries, which heavily filter and/or chemically treat RO water to match their desired mineral water profile.

I`m sure the city of La Crosse will be happy to have Old Style come home to be brewed.

PBR gets a lot of respect in the forums on this site, but it's the 'craft' beers that you'll see the most discussion in the forums.

Welcome to the jungle! Only tried PBR once, that was enough for me, but to each their own.
