Blistering start for me. Not sure that's good? Not for my diet. Down 9 pounds all through calorie restriction. Not sure if any of body will hold up to workouts anymore. Have been working my arse off at work lately & not that much desk time,

Was excited to try two new to me offerings from the last Deep Woods Release of the season. This one was reviewed in New Beer Weekend #187. This does not suit my taste preferences, but may suit others. Still needs more balance of the bourbon and hops. I do like the can artwork by Matt Gordon.

As ex-military, I remained confident that I could always take out upper management either individually or as a group - they continued to exist only at my sufferage. Final impression and summation: 3.5 Well, I guess nothing lasts forever, not even Belgian beer. This is but a shadow of its former self, a ghost flexing dimly on an over lit stage. At one time, Curvee Van de Kaizer Blauw was my favorite beer, rarely found and mostly too expensive to drink routinely. In honor of those memories, I will leave my original ratings on BA.

 

Howdy BAs! Back from an hour long walk in the park, kicking things off with a new to me beer courtesy of @flaba - “With Brooding Wings” an Imperial Baltic Porter aged in Pinot Noir and Brandy barrels from Cigar City Brewing:



Bottled 2023. Poured at 56°. Very barrel forward. Working on notes for NBW.

It’s 64° and windy with a light rain outside…as good as “stout weather” as it gets here in SW FL. Cheers y’all!

Nice to wake up to a single digit temperature, eh?

This beer is pretty darn fantastic. Probably the best peanut butter beer I've ever had and I have had a few.

Another snowy day here.

Kind of a funny story my parents shared with me. Apparently they were experimenting with some fermentation and had a bottle of grape must in their fridge. In the middle of the night they heard a huge bang coming from the kitchen (which is located on a different floor and a good distance from their bedroom). Upon inspection of the fridge they saw this. Holy crap. The force must have been insane. The bottle cut through the glass like it wasn't even there.

This beer and I have a history. 9/29/2010 this was my celebratory beer for the birth of our second child Rowan. Bomber back then, over the top Southern Tier Style.

 

Gotta love the birthday BA Karma points popping up. It's almost like it's saying "Congrats! You made it another year!" For my birthday, a very nice morning Saison - IV from Brasserie de Jandrain. Lovely beer and I am really enjoying it. I hope I can still find this in summer. Perfect beer for thar time of year. Cheers all!
