Poured from a 12 ounce can dated 1-9-24 into a teku glass at 50 degrees.

Look- Pale gold, moderately hazy, slightly off white creamy head, no visible particulate, average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Tangerine, peach, creamsicle, slight pineapple, medium strength of scent.

Taste- Tangerine, creamsicle, peach, pithy, medium strength of flavor.

Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, mildly astringent, low bitterness, moderately creamy.

Overall- Pale gold with moderate haze and average head retention and lacing. The bouquet was a pleasant mix of tangerine, peach and creamsicle. The flavor followed the nose, but had a bit too much pithiness for my palate. The body was thinner than desired and the slight astringency definitely detracted from my experience. Overall this beer provided a nice drinking experience. My father-in-law has celiac disease and he is able to drink Stone’s gluten reduced beers. These beers have provided him some solid craft beer options, so I always appreciate seeing the Delicious lineup being expanded!

Mulled Memories from Bottle Logic. Golden ale brewed with lactose. Aged in apple brandy barrels and finished with mulling spices. 12% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with a reddish hint. Almost no head. The nose is full of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, toffee, and brandy.

The taste is like Christmas. Cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, coriander, bread, Christmas cake, brandy, maraschino cherries, apple pie. Lovely.

    Here's to @jschott75

Triptych Vanilla Bean Meme New England Style IPA, 5.2% ABV ; 3.57 overall

Pours a hazed gold with a finger of cream colored head (super tight ). Pretty good head retention & great lacing

S: Some citrus, some, orange notes, just hints of

T: Follows the nose. dryness & for sure vanilla, a little green melon up front. Orange peel & vanilla, plus dryness & some white grape skin once this beer warms up. Finishes with vanilla, dryness & some orange notes

    MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation

Not sure what the intent was here, didn't hit for me. I usually like beers of this ilk but usually a few ABV points higher

Another treat from the east, got one each from @Mikexw and @micada in trade.
It’s curiously still, as in no carbonation at all.
The taste is still good with coffee and chocolate and figs and a bit of cherries. Just seemed like it wasn’t as they intended it should be. Fortunately I have a second one that I can compare it with.
Either way, still good stuff and I am very happy to be able to have tried it.

    Hey what's going on!?

Time to enjoy another new brew, diggin this one alot.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Canned Jan 31 2024.

Opaque bodied, with not too much turbid quality, hinting at a pale lemon and mostly green like hued body color. Head creation is nearly nitrous looking. Very fine bubbles with a super creamy topped white solid coating. Three fingers, slightly smaller than I anticipate, but the classic retention and lacing of a big bold IPA is present.

Creamy sensing aroma. Nice touches of soft icing sugar, with lower sensing sweetness. Hop herbal notes, tropical sensing fruits, kind of also hinting a real gooeey and mush like quality of papaya and mango character. Very nice and impressive.

The palate is real grand, controlled, balance, and just delicious. That creamy character luckily translates on the tongue real nicely too. Soft and lush, with a vanilla and ice cream feel, giving to sweet and bitter aromatics of tropical fruit hop, and citrus juicy qualities. Juiced tangerine, mixing in with lots of mango papaya and melon mush that comes off with a big juicy burst.

Just a big all around impressive IPA that hits the spot so wonderfully.

    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5 | 4.47/5

32oz crowler served in a snulip. Crowler filled yesterday at The Bine in Bothell.

Pours ruby/nut-brown, with an initial flash of head that fades to absolutely nothing. Gorgeous color and clarity...but no visible carbonation. Maybe a consequence of a day in a crowler, but doesn't seem right. Smell is nutty, toasty bread, light toffee, maybe a light hint of cocoa.

Taste is exactly in line with the aroma. Maybe a bit sweeter than I expected.

Mouthfeel is medium, but still. Overall, this is an excellent beer except that it needs a bit of carbonation. Whether that's a flaw of the beer or a flaw of the format, I'm not sure. If you have a chance to try it, I would recommend it, at least to get a sample and see if the carbonation is less disappointing for you.

Pictures of your Mama taken by your Papa from Grimm. Barleywine aged in apple brandy barrels. 13% ABV. Compliments of @DIM.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with zero head and what appears to be zero carbonation.

The nose is quite subtle. Plums, pears, apples, and caramel candy.

The taste is quite interesting. The lack of carbonation makes its quite intense. Apply brandy definitely comes through. Molasses, pears, raisins, maple, and tons of malts. Interesting beer. I think I like this one a bit more than you, Dan!

Revolution Lumber Struck Wine BA Barleywine; 13.2% ABV; 4.32 overall

Pours an effervescent & somewhat chill hazed mahogany with a sliver of tan head. Pretty good head retention & lacing.

    S: Rich dark fruit, oakyness

T: Barrel burn, figs, caramel, molasses, barrel bite up front. Figs, raisins, barrel bite with vanilla on the backside as this beer warms up, Finishes with so much chewyness, dark fruit & barrel booze bite, Plenty of vanilla, treacle & oak

MF: Chewy, but lively carbonation, warming booze bite

Well worth a go, Not as put together as some of their others; but pretty good

Time to drop a beer in here since its the weekend and this one is new to me. From @russpowell in a return fire during BIF #17. THANK YOU!!!
This is Social ProjectBrewing Company in Bentonville, Arkansas and their Fluffhead Imperial stout featuring marshmallow and peanut butter. The beer registers 9.2% ABV.

    onto my review:

Sampling a 16 oz can at cellar temp and pouring into my snifter. Label says drink fresh, but no date stamp anywhere on the can.
The beer pours a very dark cola brown with no light passing through the glass. A dense creamy tan head of .5 cm foams up from the pour. This fades to some scattered islands and a sturdy edge layer during the sampling.
Aroma is chocolate fudge, vanilla beans, some husky peanut note. the peanut isnt sweet or peanut butter more of the shell or actual nutty character. No hop notes on the nose and the ABV is hidden with no fusol notes nor boozy black pepper.
First sip reveals a medium body with fairly thick texture, but not very sticky or coating. Carbonation is soft and rolls gently across my palate. Beer drinks pretty easy for the higher ABV.
Flavor is similar to nose advertisements. Lots of fudge and nutty peanut, some hints of vanilla and a bit of a roasted malt note that I didnt really get on the nose. Still not boozy at all, which is a little dangerous. Hop character is also absent.
This beer is pretty much what I expected it to be, but is also less sweet than it could have been. Glad to have tried this one!

Structures - Dream, BBA stout with banana, hazelnut, caramel, and sea salt.

750ml bottle with lavender wax served in a pair of small snifter/tulips. Don't see a date, 11.6% abv.

Pours dark, maybe black, small head, little retention, leaves a thick filmy lacing with sparse bubbles on the side of the glass. Clumps of sediment floating on the surface -- slimy, probably yeast. Smell chocolate first, a little fruity sweetness, if the guy at the store hadn't said banana, I might not have recognized it specifically.

Taste is boozy, heavy sweetness, chocolate and fruit (banana again, but now more because it tastes like banana than because my mind was seeded with the idea). Almost a coconut character to go along with it. Vanilla and bourbon.

Mouthfeel is thick, reeaaallllyyyyy thick. Bit of grittiness, probably from suspended sediment. Overall...nice, interesting, tasty. Lots going on, a little overwhelming.

Sharing another new beer. this is Barreled Souls in Saco Maine and their Nebula extended aged barleywine. Aged in Basil Hayden barrels for 17 months and 26 days. The beer is 14.4% ABV

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. Bottle was picked up at the brewery in October. Bottled on date is 6/15/2023.
    The Details:
the beer pours a relatively dark mahogany color with almost no light passing through my glass. A creamy khaki colored head of .5 cm foams up but fades to a sturdy edge layer that remains through sampling. Some scattered lattice when I swirl or sip the beer.
Aroma on this beer is toffee, bourbon, vanilla and brown sugar. No hops and not boozy either. I also get hints of some dark fruit, plums and raisins are what Im picking up. But the sweet sugary ness and bourbon are dominant on the nose.
First sip reveals a sticky textured fairly thick body and very fine prickly carbonation. This beer is a bit of a sipper on the physical traits.
Flavor is sweet malt, with brown sugar, toffee, caramel, bourbon notes and some candied fruit. Definitely a sweet and barrel forward beer. Never any hop character and the booze is not hot, fusol, or black pepper. Pretty drinkable, minus the stickiness. Ill be finishing this beer over the next hour or so. Enjoying this one quite a bit.

King Louie - Wooden Hill Brewing - Edina, MN - American Blonde Ale???? - 5.3% ABV

Maybe it is a blonde? I guess it does have some elements of one, and is a lot thinner than a banana cream pie kettle sour would be. I am not a sweets person, but I do like banana cream pie, and this fits the bill - it does taste like one.

From a 16 oz can. No date on the can.

This beer looks somewhat orange while pouring, though has more of a yellow hue in the glass. Very murky looking, and you can't see through it. There's a thick and frothy slightly off white head - 3 finger - that dissipates slowly. There's a bit of lacing on the glass.
I was getting a lot of banana aroma while pouring the beer. Up close I get the banana, and I get a lot of lactose and I also get a graham cracker aroma. It smells like a banana cream pie.
It also tastes like a banana cream pie. Lots of smooth banana flavor. Lactose and graham cracker back it up. There's also just a very faint hint of the hops that adds an interesting contrast to the sweet of the other flavors.
Smooth, and creamy. Maybe not as full as I'd expect from the name, but decent.
This beer does live up to its name - it is a banana cream pie in a can. Delicious.

Don't know if I'll be back tomorrow, my friend Tim really needs help and support now that he is a widower. Maybe much latter in the day. Cheers all, and make sure you tell your loved ones you care about them.
