Bought some of the Kolsch today along with the German Pils. Did not plan to get into the Kolsch today but couldn't help myself. Cheers!

Cold rainy day here. This is the only beer under 9% in the fridge so it’s my choice for now.

    Enjoy

Trying out a new wheat lager from Jack's Abby. Thoughts over in NBW in a bit. Good excuse for some ridiculous glassware.

    Stovepipe of SoS. Cheers!

Sip of Sunshine is the 9th best rated imperial IPA in the universe...or at least on BA (same thing really). And it's available in the gas station, quick buzz 19.2oz format. No offense, but this song always comes to me whenever I drink one of these.

Founders KBS Spicy Chocolate (12.0% bottled 12/27/23): A BBA Stout from Michigan with flavors of dark choclate, dried peppers, cocoa, and coffee roast.

Happy Saturday Beer Advocates. First go at this Spicy Chocolate version. Not a fan of spicy or peppery beers so was a bit skeptical at first. Heard that the spiciness was muted a bit. Aromas are pretty standard KBS. The flavor is normal KBS and coffee bitterness upfront. Then in the middle it does have a distinct spiciness to it. It's balanced and not overpowering though. Then on the end the sweet bourbon and chocolate malt come through to finish sweet and clean off the spiciness. It's definitely a ride, but not too spicy, and I enjoyed it far more than I had thought I would. Once again, a valuable lesson I've learned, never doubt a Founder's Stout.

I grabbed one of those for $3.99. Crazy as the 16x4 is $15-17

They help out WFMU each year and play covers of whatever people call in and ask for. You make a donation and they play live on the radio on the spot.

    Enjoy
