Cheers to @bwhit for the This Magnify Brewing Inter Galactic IPA, DDH with Galaxy, 6.5% ABV; 4.12 overall

Pours an effervescent & very hazed gold with 2 fingers of fluffed up eggshell colored head. Stays super-hazed, very nice head retention & lacing

S: Some citrus & bready notes. Citrus & bready sweetness picks up once warm, but still somewhat lacking

T: Bitter orange, dryness, limes & a kiss of sweet orange up front. Sweeter citrus flavors prevail as this beer warms up, still pronounced dryness & some lime notes. Finishes dry, juicy with bitter orange, plus lime taking back over, some pineapple very late...

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, pretty nice balance

Super-solid juicyness & easy to drink.

Next up is Eibauer Zittauer Bürgerbräu Schwarzbier. I cannot agree more with what was said about this beer — a very drinkable bright roasty lager. Smells a little bready and sweet, but tastes dry and overall enjoyable. I'm tempted to open another Eibauer but should slow down and keep the rest for later.

    Good afternoon NBW
Grad I was able to get one of these. Bourbon barrel aged with vanilla beans for a year.

    Three Floyds Trolls, Trolls, Trolls

12oz bottle stamped BOTTLED 2023 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 13% ABV per label. The beer pours pitch black with medium brown colored head. The head recedes to single layer of bubbles and leaves some lacing. The aroma is bourbon soaked vanilla & chocolate fudge. The taste is more bourbon soaked vanilla fudge with sustained sweetness and pronounced alcohol. The feel is medium plus bodied with just less than average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. There's some ethanol presence, but I get that with vanilla frequently, and I still wouldn't guess 13% Overall, excellent.

    Cheers all!

Baltic Porter aged in Pinot Noir and brandy barrels. 11.9 abv
I shared this with my son and the review is based on a collection of our thoughts

    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25
    Bottled in 2023
Not much going on for appearance, pours dark brown with a slight tan head around the edges that quickly disappears. No cap or lacing what so ever
Aroma is strong notes of red wine blends some dried fruits and oak barrel notes. I got a hint of tobacco.
Taste is wine forward, if there was roasted malt the barrel aging in brandy and Pinot barrels overpowered it. Some currents and a hint of maple to add some sweetness
Mouthfeel is fairly light and smooth up front, low carbonation and slightly thin feeling no burn form the 11.9 abv Finishes a bit like a good Chianti, dry and slightly astringent
Overall I like the aroma and it’s smooth and light, the barrel aging process hid most if not all of the porter characteristics. Not being a big porter drinker I really liked the taste.

I’m taking Mrs O out for dinner to celebrate our 34th anniversary, which is tomorrow, so a quick one (technically two) for me. I bother brewery on Tuesday in Columbus whilst there for work.

    I’m a fan. Shocker, I know.

Pours a crystal clear straw color with a fluffy white head that provides a surprising amount of lacing and a nice ring around the body of the beer. Beautiful lager.

The nose has a nice bit of grass, a smidge of lemon, and a big ol’ dollop of cereal grain, which fits the bill for an American lager,

The taste is more balanced than the nose, with the grassy note more pronounced with a nice bit of lemon and the cereal grain at the back of the palate.

The mouthfeel is clean and very crisp, fitting the beer really well. This is just a straightforward beer drinker’s beer, something to keep in your fridge when you want to drink a simple, well-executed beer.

That's right, I bought the variety pack.

    Samuel Adams Post Season IPA

Golden color with small but lasting white cap.
Aroma of sweet slightly caramely malt with spicy h\sharp hops.

Flavors on entry are sweet malt of about medium strength and sharp hops with the same intensity. Simple, uncomplicated brew apparently designed to have wide appeal

One expects hops in a generic IPA but one doesn't always get malt to equal. This has both in just about the right proportions.

    ...solid brown,almost black appearance.
...medium light carbonation with about a medium body
...aroma is sour cherries upfront followed by an assortment of mixed fruit, blueberries and apples in particular. Theres some mild wood, brown sugar and fig.
...taste is mildly sweet with the sour cherry and wood almost creating a dry effect which makes for a very nice flavor.again theres mixed fruit but the fig barely shows up.
..overall I wasn't excited about this one but its very complex ,flavorful and interesting [IMG]

Near black body and a light tan head. Slight nose of roasted malt. Taste of the roasted malt and a touch of coffee bitterness. Love the feel…slightly creamy mouthfeel with light carbonation. Just another well crafted beer Einstok!

Lupulin Church Basement Pancake Breakfast Imperial Stout, 10.5% ABV. Pours black with a 1.5 finger brown head that left no lacing. Aroma is coffee and maple. Taste is maple, coffee, and coconut, quite sweet but not cloying, faintly bitter coffee. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent to outstanding adjacent.

If they come out with a BBA variant as I suspect they will, I'll do a side-by-side with CBS. If this one is any indication, a BBA version may beat CBS.

12 oz can no date into a Becker glass.
L: SRM a bright 3 Pours a glowing lemon gold color with a very light yeast haze, steady fine carbonation bubbles, a dense domed 1/2" eggshell white head that has excellent retention, frothy loose thick lacing and perforated sheeting.
S: Distant malts, floral, herbal, a hint of lemon, gently earthy, mixed fruits with warming.
T: Bright tasting citrus, lemon, intense citrus zest, background caramel malts, yellow or white grapefruit. It is quite tangy and is sharp tasting with affable sweet notes.
F: Quite brisk and cracking and bright medium bodied feel with a medium-fast finish and a long slightly drying finish.
O: A fairly intense tasting and feeling IPA and a very well-constructed beer. Extremely pleasant tasting and it is excellent in its style.

It was a perfect spring (I know) day in PA, baseball practice with my 8 year olds team, gardening, and mountain pies on the fire for dinner. I enjoyed this gem from @Dimidiata throughout the afternoon and evening. Electric Roads batch 3 from Private Press, a blend of double barrel aged barleywine.

This is lovely, lots of warming layers at work here. Spiced fig cakes, baked apples, black strap molasses, vanilla, graham cracker, lightly charred caramel, plus more than I can describe. The barrels add plenty smooth bourbon, some prickly oak, and just a little something vinous. I suspect that some non brown liquor barrels are in the mix. The carbonation is very light but body has a nice, lightly sticky silkiness. Wonderful stuff, thank you Christine!

Good evening, all. Some nice posts so far. We took our grandson to his first musical theater experience last night - Frozen at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Want to keep a 7 yo enthralled for a couple hours? Huge smile as soon as the music started and eyes as big as saucers. It was similar enough to the movie for a kid to recognize with loads of extra music and some alterations. Fantastic effects and stagecraft. Two in particular were literally jaw-dropping - the transformation of Elsa and creation of the ice castle and the climatic scene where the prince tries to slay Elsa. Goosebumps!

Tonight's beer was canned last Match around this time but I bought it a week ago Friday...oh well...and oddly not in the data base, so just added.

Mast Landing collab with Tilted Barn. Solid Gold New Zealand style pilsner featuring Pacific Jade hops. I looked up the hops and they are basically Saaz equivalent with a bit higher alpha acid content. So it's a German Pilsner.

Drop dead gorgeous pour. Initially crystal clear pale straw color with a huge pile of white foam aided by a mildly aggressive pour. Great head retention and ridiculous adherence to the glass. Does have a very slight haze after the fact.

The smell is slightly sweet malts, mild lemon, earthy and a bit of peppery spice. Maybe fallen off a bit, but pretty typical for the style.

The taste follows along with being on point for the style. Slightly sweet. Clean malts that are very slightly bready. Earthy hops and a pretty hefty grounding bitterness that brings a little edge. Lemon pepper on the finish and on the aromatics after the swallow.

The feel is medium and maybe a little short on crispness.

Easy drinking and accurate to style. I'm not entirely sure what each brewery brought to the party. Pretty sure each could have brewed this on their own - no collab magic, in my opinion. As it is, it's a slightly above average German pilsner, so 3.7 - 3.8.
