    1) Oliphant Rusket Dark (5.0%): A Dark Lager from Wisconsin with flavors of black malt, cocoa, dark roast. Clean and dry.
    versus
    2) Badger State SKI-BRW (5.6%): A Czech Dark Lager from Wisconsin with nice earthy, nutty, floral flavors. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Badger State SKI-BRW:
Wisconsin Dark Lager Battle. First is Oliphant Rusket Dark. Dark malt flavors, roasty, and clean.
Badger State SKI-BRW is next. Dark bread flavors, a little earthy. It's smooth. Just like how a Czech dark lager should be. I am really liking this one.

Is that balsamic vinegar intentionally trying to look like a beer? At first glance I thought it was a beer from Stone.

Totally blanked on the NCAA Tourney starting today. Some would say it is me blocking out my team's embarrassing, though mostly predictable, exit before the round of 64. Others would most likely be wrong. Settling in while I do some laundry and drink a beer.

Just finished cleaning up the kitchen and getting everything ready for tonight's dinner. Easy - some angel hair with sauce and meatballs - always satisfying!!

So this song is part of the previous Cold Blood tune I posted (I'm A Good Woman) - it segues right into this excellent bluesy tune. I love Lydia Pense - great set of pipes and some raw emotion. To me, these two songs belong together as it is essentially one performance.

Evil Twin Blueberry Jelly Doughnut* Even More Jesus

*Stop spelling it donut, people. That was Dunkin', and it's only become commonly accepted (and mostly just in the US) out of laziness and ignorance. It's freaking doughnut. It's a real word that really exists, and it is no kidding the proper way to spell the word. Then again, adjunct is a real word, too, and that doesn't stop hordes of homebrewers from self-righteously trying to "correct" professional brewers and, you know, anyone who possesses the absolutely incredible and arcane ability to, you know, open a dictionary (or Google). :stuck_out_tongue:

Nitro Temptress - Lakewood Brewing - Garland, TX - Milk Stout - 9.1%

    Damn delicious!!!!!

    look: 4.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
    From a 12oz can canned on 10-25-23

Pitch black pouring beer, with no chance of light shining through. The pour is a beautiful nitro pour. The head and the beer mingled as the head settled to the top. A 1 1/2 finger brown head. Fluffy and frothy looking, and very long lasting. Some lacing on the glass.
Nose has notes of chocolate and a hint of lactose.
Taste - Very creamy tasting beer. Some of the cream is from the nitro, but there's a good lactose hit here also. The chocolate flavors go from a roasted dark chocolate to a sweet milk chocolate. I do get a roasted malt flavor in this beer as well as hints of coffee.
This beer is so full bodied. It is smooth and creamy feeling.
    This beer is downright amazing.

    1) Barrel Theory Early Access (7.2% canned 2/28/24): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Mosaic, Riwaka, and Citra for flavors of lemon citrus, passionfruit, tropical pineapple. Juicy and clean.
    versus
    2) Barrel Theory It’s So Fluffy! (7.2% canned 3/8/24): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Riwaka and Columbus cryo for flavors of orange, dank herbs, tangerine and bitter pine. Moderately bitter. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Barrel Theory Early Access:
Barrel Theory Beer Battle. This is a somewhat newer brewery from Minnesota that has been making some great haze and I am starting to see a lot more of these around. These two beers are extremely fresh, right off the dock.
First is Early Access. Riwaka and Citra show here. Great lemon, passionfruit, and pineapple flavors. Juicy and zesty. Excellent NEIPA.
Next is It's So Fluffy. The Columbus hop really shines here. It's dank, herbal, and moderately bitter. Not really fluffy. Not sure why they were putting Columbus in it as usually that a bittering West-Coast hop. Nevertheless it's hazy, but drinks more similar to a WC or northwest IPA.
Early Access is the clear winner for me. Hope to try more from these guys.

The word that bothers me the most is "unthaw" @Roguer, my PBR drinking wife says it all the time. When I pulled out the dictionary to show her it wasn't a real word I was amazed and shamed. To me "unthaw" would literally mean refreeze. I can live with donut.
