Ok this will do. Always forget how intense feesh Bigfoot is. This seems a little more hoppy/bitter than 2023 was, though

Here is World Beer Cup Gold Award winner for barleywine-style ale from Minnesota. Dual Citizen Brewing Mayhem and Mishief. An American barleywine. From St. Paul, Minnesota. Courtesy of Minnesota's beer godfather, @cheeseheadinMinneapolis. Served in a glass I purchased when I met up with @Victory_Sabre1973 in Cloud City, Minnesota. This is a delicious American barleywine.

I had one of these at our local Ted's Beer Hall last night. Thankfully the food was great too, because shopping afterwards wasn't the wisest choice...

Fremont Brew 7000, an English barleywine. Pretty good! Review below. Cheers!

    look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25
22oz bottle into a tulip. Pours a murky mahogany brown with a minimal head, leaves behind a sugary coating on the inside of the glass if I tilt it.

Aroma is a blend of brown sugar and sour cherries, instantly giving me flashbacks of a recent bad bottle of 2016 So Happens It’s Tuesday but I’d be surprised if Fremont released an infected beer, I don’t think I’ve had one from them yet. Mostly molasses and caramel, some vanilla.

Taste thankfully has none of the sourness I thought I’d detected on the nose. No, this beer is heavy on the sugars, unapologetically so. Brown sugar, caramel, molasses, toffee, vanilla—a sticky bun in a glass. Rum-soaked figs and dates.

Mouthfeel is chewy and sticky. Nice boozy warmth on the finish.

Overall another great Brew X000 release from Fremont.

East End Gratitude, 2023 version. Drank it last night but postimages was having an aneurysm...

Really enjoyed this one. The barrel addition was a nice balance to the malt sweetness.

What did you think? Personally, I thought 2024 was a little too intense. It should be good in about 8 years lol. For references, I bought two 6-packs of 2023 and only have 1 bottle left, and I don’t really plan on drinking any more 2024 this year

I’m a little late, but great minds think alike…10 years and tasting fabulous! The vinous qualities are smooth and sweet. The barleywine still has a nice malt profile and a tiny bit of hops up front. Digging it.

Interesting color, almost like a sour or two I’ve seen.

That “then it’ll be gone” is no joke. I have plenty of stray singles that must live on, or forever be forgotten in time.

Lee’s are phenoms, IMO. Sweet with enough hop bite, complex…too easy to crush.

I found this strange AF. I have one left that I might just let sit 10 years to see if anything good happens.
