I posted twice above with other maibock comparisons, but here's the best in the world. I liked it so well I had a second one.

New to the area, and maybe a little late for the season -- but I'd never turn down a Heller Bock at any time of the year.

Not a bad Maibock -- especially in what seemed like a pretty lax Maibock season this year.

Aventinus Eisbock vintage 2017 released last year. Cheers.

Damn, that looks flat. Did you leave the yeast in the bottom of the bottle, or is aging effecting the usual Weizen yeast head?

I have a few bottles of this stashed away, I really ought to dig them up.

The Eisbock doesn't feature bottle fermentation like regular Aventinus. @Blogjackets

No? Did it back when it was first introduced?

All I remember is it tasting more oxidized than Aventinus, and I wasn't impressed.

Carbonation and mouthfeel were actually fine, but I wasn’t impressed with the flavor. I was given this bottle by someone who knew I loved that Eisbock. Such is life.

Bock Bock doppelbock. At Noble Roots Brewing in Green Bay, WI. It is a beautiful day. This beer is strong, fortifying, and balanced.

Low 70's at the end of June called for a maß of Augustiner Maximator. A rich, malty delicious beer as always.

Funny, I was just discussing my first Maximator at the Augustiner Keller and how I refrained from a full Maß... but it was so good I had to have a second half liter anyway.

I found another maibock! It's from Old Nation Brewing, and is a collaboration beer with Urban Chestnut from St. Louis, MO. It uses non-traditional hops (German Saphir and French Aramis) so being a purist, I don't consider this to be a maibock. I liked the beer, but it's just an Euro Pale Bock in my mind.

Same beer I posted earlier (#184) -- from the other collaborator.

Does it say where it was brewed? What's the canning date? Not sure how they worked the collab across 2 time zones.

The nouveau hops didn't throw me off base like some will, still a Maibock to my palate.

Interesting. These beers have different labels (I just submitted my pic, but it's not yet posted), and the label on mine says it was brewed at Old Nation.

The malt shined thru to make me think maibock, but those hops are just different enough to cause me to go with Euro Pale Lager in my mind (although I did call it a maibock on the beer's BA page because that's what is on the can).

Canned on 05-15-24, and the stamp on the bottom has the Old Nation name.

Different labels and different names. Pretty interesting.

Mine was canned 5-29 -- wonder how they worked this coloab? Worked up a recipe then brewed at respective locations?

It must be that the brewers got together in person somewhere or via electronic communication and came up with the recipe, then brewed it separately. It's probably happened before, but this is the first time that I've heard of it happening like this.
