All right, another beer that I've been wanting to try for a bit now.

Imperial Radler - New Glarus Brewing - New Glarus, WI - Fruit and Field Beer - 8.5%

Damn, this beer could be dangerous if you don't know it's high alcohol, because it drinks like a 2-3% radler. Delicious, but be careful.

    From a 12oz can

This is a murky pouring beer, as expected. Orange/golden in color with a 1 finger white head. Head retention is decent, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is a good grapefruit aroma, and not a hoppy grapefruit.
Taste - This is a radler, and it drinks like a great German one. It is grapefruit flavored. This beer has sweet and tart flavors to it.
This beer does not drink like 8% at all. It feels like a 2-3% radler. Crisp and clean feeling. Tartness feeling lingers.
This really could be a dangerous beer on a hot day, because it could go down way too fast for the ABV. It's a radler, but way higher alcohol.

I'm going to see if I have another in me after this. Cheers!

Equilibrium/Voodoo Collaboration What's Past is Present DIPA, 8.5% ABV; 3.69 overall

Pours a very hazed honey color with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head.

S: Green melons, guava, some grassy & catty notes once warm. Nice head retention & better lacing

T: Follows the nose, powdery dryness, tastes a little like Tang up front. Tangerine & pink grapefruit once warmed up, plus too much powdery dryness. Finishes dry with lime, tang flavors & a little grapefruit

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation, pretty good balance

Just too dry for me to really to enjoy, ABV is well hidden

Shipshape is a Czech-style lager featuring a classic yeast strain, Bohemian pilsner malt, and copious amounts of zesty hand-selected Saaz hops. A carefully constructed beverage, Shipshape undergoes a complex mash program prior to heading to the cellar for lengthy conditioning in horizontal stainless. Patience and a studied construct result in a crisp beer that tastes of potent noble hop character, biscuity malts, light dough, and mild mineral water atop a light body. Enjoy it cold in the heat of the day!

Clear golden liquid , three finger off white foam cap. Good lacings

    Aroma is malty, biscuity, doughy

Taste is malty, biscuity, clean hop bite on the finish

Sudsy mouthfeel , light mouthfeel ,

    Good beer

New Beer #3 was also provided by @snaotheus : Celestial Flirtation, a 6.6% ABV IPA from Cloudburst.

Annoyingly, the can gives you a QR code to "identify" the beer, but that takes you to the brewery's entire beer list, which isn't helpful. The name is printed on the can, but it's like a born-on date: it's small black ink printed directly on the can. Bah.

This is a lovely and tasty modern IPA. Quite hazy, as is all the rage. Tasting notes lean primarily tropical, secondarily citrus, and finally dank and brightly herbal. My main criticism is that it's very light on the palate, almost like a session IPA, and consequently it lacks any significant impact on the palate. The flavors are there, but they just kind of wash by and quickly leave.

    Very nice overall, for sure.

Well this will be the closer for me this NBW. I really enjoy this thread and it does teach me a lot. I will never be a Cicerone, but, the knowledge gained here helps me out at work.

Dark Truth - Boulevard Brewing - Kansas City, MO - American Imperial Stout - 9.5%

When I was in the cities a few weeks back my deer friend convinced me to get it. I'm glad I got it. I am enjoying the closer to this NBW thread.

From a 12oz bottle. Enjoy by December 21, 2025. Served at room temp.

A great hiss and a bit of smoke on opening the bottle. This is a pitch black pouring beer. There's no chance any light will shine through. There's a great 3 finger brown head on this beer. Frothy looking with great lacing on the glass.
Roasted chocolate and caramel nose. Hints of cola aroma here.
Taste - Malty as expected. There's a good chocolate and caramel flavor here. There's also hints of vanilla. There's a pleasing and powerful bitterness on the backside. There's also a hint of smoke in this beer. Are the malts roasted? I'd guess so.
Full bodied. Smooth. Slight burn to this beer.
Damn delicious, and so glad I bought it.

Well, I'll be back at the next version of this virtual bar next weekend. Cheers to you all. Enjoy your beers and enjoy life. It is precious.

Social Project Brewing's Grounded Anaerobic Coffee Stout, 8.0% ABV; 3.54 overall

Pours an effervescent Mahogany/Ebony with a thumb of mocha colored head. Average-ish carbonation

S: Faint coffee notes, some vanilla notes, a little caramel as well. Nose only really opened up near room temperature

T: Tannic coffee, roastyness, a touch of dryness & booze bite up front, slight acidity to this coffee as well. More coffee, a little vanilla & woody hop presence once warmed up. Finishes fairly dry, roasty with acidic coffee & a touch of hazelnuts

MF: Medium/chewy body, dialed back carbonation

There was an initial booze hit, but after that I thought I was just drinking Coffee. My days of drinking Black Coffee are long gone, I needed some more flavors mixing in, that didn't happen. If you like them Coffee Forward, this is for you

Going to sneak in a couple that I drank while gaming with my stepson and one of his friends; me in Michigan, Aaron in Tennessee and Chad in Colorado and we’re going through a scenario based on the Aliens movies. (Spoiler, most of the player characters die)
Ah well, it’s about the only time every week that I can talk to others in real time about stuff completely unrelated to anything else. I rather enjoy it. So when I told them I was going to grab a beer, the GM told me to grab two. So I did.

Fresh Prints, a “cold” IPA from Schell’s. Sent to me by @Victory_Sabre1973 in an LIF associated with the NBW BIF #18.

Before gaming I was up on my roof with loppers and on a ladder with a chainsaw to cut back some branches. This is why I waited until evening to open a beer.
Wasn’t sure what to expect from a “cold” IPA, but it was indeed cold as I had kept it in the beer fridge instead of the cellar and I might have drank it too quickly as it was very refreshing. I was expecting a western version of the IPA, don’t know why, but I didn’t get it. Some muted citrus flavors were present and maybe if I had been patient and let it warm up a bit the piney hops could have come out to play. Mox nix, it hit the spot after a long day outside.
Back in a minute with the second beer-

August Schell, who founded the brewery was German. They mostly have done German style beers over the years. I think this is their first and only IPA. I have enjoyed it and could have gotten it on tap yesterday at the brewery.

    And the second one:
tried to get the beer without getting the faces on the screen, made the angle look funny.
This one was also sent to me by @Victory_Sabre1973 in that same LIF.
Poured looking like a pulp free orange juice with a nearly white head that left no lacing.
The taste was orange and pineapple with a hint of mango. Not too strong of flavors, but enough to leave no doubt as to the style.
The feeling was light and crisp, an unexpected surprise with the look and taste. It was well enjoyed and I would be happy to have it again.
Both actually worked together very well, and it was pure luck.
All for today for me, have an awesome evening and I hope your week ahead goes better than you hoped for.
    Cheers!

Elder Pine Brewing & Blending Co - Cerveza Viejo Pino. It's an AAL, very tasty. Totally hitting the spot on this hot and humid Philadelphia mid-summer's night! "Classic Mexican-style Pale Lager brewed with a base of floor-malted Pilsner malt and equal parts Vienna malt & flaked corn." Last year's version was lightly hopped with Czech Saaz hops (my review). This year's version is lightly hopped with German Hallertau Blanc.
