I live in the Philadelphia area and it has been a very hot summer so far with June being the 4th hottest on record.

I have been enjoying a number of my homebrewed Pilsners: Alsatian Pilsner, Bohemian Pilsner and my reconstruction of the original Michelob beer of 1896.

But in this summer heat a good ol’ lawnmower beer often ‘hits the spot’. I purchased a 12-pack of Lord Chesterfield cans for the 4th of July AAL beer tasting and I have rapidly been depleting this 12-pack. Maybe time for a second 12-pack purchase?

    Cheers!

I just hit a 6pk of 16iz Hamm’s because I hadn’t had it in a while. I think it just so happened to be only $9.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a really good response to the OP as for a beer I’ve been drinking - I’ve been all over the place with beers this summer. But my favorite new find that I hope I can get again is Commonwealth’s near beer Cold Sober (2.4%). Light (perhaps obviously) and a bit more flavor than I expected from a beer as near an N/A as a “real beer.”

Yards Brawler. Plenty of flavor, light on ABV, what's not to like? Maybe not a "summer" beer in the traditional sense, but as long as you're drinking what you like.

Speaking of “Yards” and “summer”, have you tried Yards High Dive which they advertise as a “Summer's perfect Pilsner”?

    Cheers!

In terms of new-to-me beers released this summer, I’d have to go with Pliny for President. Just kind of stumbled on it at a local bottle shop last weekend when I was out picking up Thai food next door, but it was very good. I would happily drink it again.

Pizza Port’s Summer Moments. During the summer we do Friday afternoons at the beach with two other families. This year we started going to pizza port after the beach. I’ve been grabbing a 6 pk of summer moments every time. It’s always fresh and it’s a really solid WC ipa.

Live Oak Hefeweizen and Pilz. I brought some cans back from Austin and Denver just got a drop of some more. They're both comparable to what you'd find in Germany, but were brewed only a few weeks ago. I also recently acquired some New Glarus Pils and have been super happy with it, too. It's sharper than anything I've had in Germany, but it's still delicious.

Every now and then I like a really cold stout that I can let warm up on my palate in the evenings. Other than that, usually summer stuff: IPAs, Berliner Weisse, Hefes, Pilsners.

Besides my normal summer staples of Leini's Summer Shandy, I took a liking to SA's American Light and we just started to get Schilling's beer in this area and I've been enjoying the hell out of those.
