slept 4 hours and went out for a walk.

HUGE MISTAKE. It's hot as fuck out here and can barely think straight.

Walked into a bar and ordered Black Butte

I didn’t see the photos when I first looked but they showed up for me after I posted. Random lost html tag again? No idea.

Think I figured it out. I see similar things happening in NBW (and other threads) and the commonality between them all (granted, small dataset) is they are all posting their pictures from PostImg (or something like that) Seems like an intentional delay on their part.

They show up now on my phone, which is where I posted this morning, and they are there okay on my laptop, which is where this post is generated. You probably nailed your guess on the reason why.

Neglected to cross post this yesterday, and it’s so far from a “normal” Porter I hesitate to put it here, but technically, I guess it’s a Porter.

I mean, there’s no such thing as a “Vietnamese Porter” that I’m aware of, but here we are. And they have been making it for (IIRC) 9 years now.
Full description in NBW (Saturday) but I will say that what came to mind when I took my first sip was “It’s a pastry porter!”

That line tends to open comments about Jackie O’s brews fairly frequently. And deservedly so.

Beer and soup in my belly, but no beer added to the soup. Tried a monk’s recipe for the first time so no alterations. Next time maybe

Jeez, a small town brewery just nailed the style here. So delicious!

Beautiful pitch black pouring beer with no light shining through the glass. There's a 2 finger tan colored head that has a small bubble/frothy look to it. The head retention is good, and there's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is very rich. I just get a ton of dark chocolate off it. I also get a huge roasted coffee hit. Hint of caramel also shows up.
The flavor is so rich. I just get a huge dark chocolate hit to this beer up front. The back has an amazing roasted coffee flavor. These flavors just are so right together, and are all from the malts. Getting a faint hint of caramel also.
The body is so smooth and rich. Very full for the style. Almost creamy feeling.
Wow! I just don't know how much more impressed with this brewery I could be. This beer is amazing.
