...I could see this being more English than American for a barleywine...there is very little bitterness per se from any source, and most of the flavor I get would be from the malts and, perhaps the yeast...I don't see any readily available info about the beer other than 'barleywine'...

#2, apparently aging this for 8 years didn’t detract from it, because this is world class stuff, IMHO. Absolutely love it.

    16 ounce can packaged 09/10/24.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 5/4 inch white head over a fairly bright, golden body with sticky lacing.

Nose of tropical fruit, mostly passion fruit and melon, with slight citrus.

At first, the taste has the aforementioned melon with some passion fruit which then takes a sharp left turn to the west coast with pine bitterness to finish things up. Quite unique and rather tasty!

Nice, nearly full mouthfeel with more than medium carbonation.

Overall, will be crushing another with dinner, while watching the Mets crush the Phillies!

    Cheers!

This beer went from Oregon to Minnesota to Texas and finally to Indiana. That’s a lotta miles, and no regrets at all for muling it all those miles.

    Round #2 tonight
Funny story about this one. Two weeks ago my wife and I made a road trip to Cincinnati and visited Jungle Jim's. The selection is overwhelming no matter how many times I go. I tried to limit myself to two cases between singles, four packs six packs etc. I kept putting back six packs as I could only fit 3 oktoberfest 6 packs in my limit that weren't available as singles. My wife had her own wants and the cart was a mess as was checkout. Anyway, got home with 2 six packs of this one...
