We lost a couple more famous folks today - Frank Fritz from American Pickers and John Amos from Good Times - RIP both!

Kind of a cool, overcast fall day here so deserving of this beer for sure!!

Got the yard mowed, weed eaten and everything blown off. Spent about an hour in the pool, solar on the roof is keeping it about 87 degrees into October. Jai Alai at about 4 weeks old.

 

My favorite pumpkin ale.

 

It's Tuesday, and I do have a job today @Shanex, it's walking 3 miles and then enjoying some $2 pints. Today's brews, Southern Tier Caramel Pumking Ale & Kona Big Wave Golden Ale. Cheers!

From a 16oz can, canned on 02/25/24. We just got this in from the distributer a couple weeks back.

This is a pitch black pouring beer. The head that forms is a 2 finger brown head. Good head retention, and a bit of lacing on the glass.
The aroma has a good hit of lactose on it. I am also getting a faint hint of roasted coffee.
Taste - This beer has a good mix of lactose and coffee up front. The back features some roasted dark chocolate notes, with a bit of bitterness to balance out the sweetness of the lactose.
Smooth and creamy body. The feeling from the bit of bitterness does linger.
Not a bad Morning Ritual, and I'm glad to try it in the afternoon.

Haven't checked in here in a while, I'm sure I missed some tributes to Dikembe and Pete on the sports side. Not going to claim having followed the baseball season much this year, but it is the playoffs. I'm not a Baltimore fan, but lacking a true favorite and and I do appreciate how they've built a good deal from the farm system, I'm rooting for them now.

(Edit: as soon as I typed this, they failed to get the guy home from third with one out. Sorry Baltimore fans)

I saw @Shanex posted Johnny Cash's version of this one the day I learned of Kristofferson's passing - I'm not sure if it was coincidence or not. Learning of his death on a Sunday definitely was.

 

Sounds cool Larry and I love that PRS guitar. Ending makes sense in a way though...fall just stops and winter begins. I really wish I had the chops to just sit down and compose like that.

 

I had only heard the Cash version prior to KK passing. I knew he had written it thought. Cash does Me and Bobbie Mcgee as well.
