I'm always a sucker for glassware. Spiegelau stem stuff being my favorite for these big BA beers but I love it all.

I generally don't like to use apps that don't need to be apps, because they generally "appify" their business model around data collection to sell to marketing aggregators. I don't see firms like Oznr as offering any value-add to consumers over web platforms like Shopify or Toast. I say that purely as a consumer, not knowing what terms any of those companies offer on the back-end to firms like Rev.

As for merch, I would love an 18- or 20-oz glass, so that I don't have to choose between giving a pint can a more aggressive pour that builds up some aromatic head or drinking the first ounce or two from the can while the glass tries its best not to spill over.

I wouldn't prefer OZNR, but I'm not against it nor would I stop buying the season ticket if it was switched over to OZNR.

Cheers to Cold Time Lager. Revolution nailed this one!

I wish Rev Pils was as readily available...

Let me throw this back to @BeerCruncher -- what is the reason you keep considering a switch to OZNR?

I think the dominate response here is us nerds don't want the switch but aren't going scorched earth if you do (with a few exceptions).

Is this a case where they can make Revolution's life much, much easier? Do you simply have a great relationship with a salesperson or owner there? Or is it much more complicated than that simple dichotomy (which I'm sure is most likely)?

For me, it doesn't really matter either way, but if there's a strong reason for a move to OZNR I'd certainly be interested in hearing it.

Agreed, I’d use it if I have to (like with Half Acre or Goose Island), but I’m more or less indifferent. I imagine the sales rep would say something different but OZNR is not a source of release information for me and it’s so clunky I don’t see using it that way - I rely mainly on BA, Instagram, and brewery newsletters. OZNR has yet to get me to buy something that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Coincidentally, as I write this I’m trying to look up my order history and the app keeps crashing, so that’s fun.

As a non-ticket holder but BA beer buyer, I’ll add that the my opinion along with the other 4 or 5 beer nerds that I have spoken with that don’t post here, seem to agree with this sentiment. OZNR is easy some of the time, but the fees are the complaint. It’s just like Ticketmaster. Sometimes the experience is just fine. When it isn’t, it is infuriating. But the fees make me want to go full Eminem and bury a bitch.

He had floated it earlier in the year (post) and at the time it seemed it was more a desire on OZNR's part to get Rev onboard than anything from Rev's side. Assuming the same holds true now, I vote a 2nd No to OZNR, in true Chicago fashion.

If OZNR is going balls out to get you have OZNR send you their terms and then go back to your current vendor with that to price match.

Just realized Oznr would probably make my life as a proxy pretty miserable. Love the current system we’ve got going.

I’ve proxied for ~ 10 people at once consistently using Oznr. Once they updated to it all being tied to your email address, it was a breeze. Before then it was scanning every individual QR code for every person.

I did think of something - a Deep Woods Koozie. It runs the risk of devaluing the brand, but I unironically drink Straight Jacket directly from a can on occasion. It would be nice to slow the climb to room temperature.

@BeerCruncher I'd generally say stick with the current system. It's worked just fine for me. That said, if Oznr is going to streamline things for the Rev team, there won't be any increased cost associated with using Oznr passed on to us, and it for whatever reason(s) doesn't increase the price of DW beer which has remained remarkably stable outside of extended aged stuff, I say go for it. I'm on board for anything that makes managing the program easier for you and the Rev crew in that scenario. Thanks for asking our opinions.

Ah, just saw a post of theirs mentioning the Season Ticket glass will be available for p/u during this upcoming release. Had forgotten about this myself.

Picking up proxies with OZNR is very easy - I've done it for some dads in the neighborhood and vice versa - never been a problem. They just add your email as proxy and it shows up in your OZNR.
oh yes - very pumped for this glass.

The issue I have with OZNR is wtf does OZNR mean and how did they come up with this name?

I had to look it up myself recently:

"Oznr is our way of paying homage to our bootstrapping roots. CraftCellr was founded and built out of Founder Eric Thelen’s home on Osner Drive in Atlanta. Our hope is that Oznr will a constant reminder of the daily grind and the amazing local communities that helped us achieve success."

    Well that’s an insulting suggestion…

The reason OZNR would be helpful is because Shopify doesn’t have the functionality to know who is a Season Ticket Holder and who isn’t. When we want to offer a Season Ticket Holder benefit, we have to do so via e-mail which often goes to Promotions folders, using private links, and then police compliance manually. Booster Packs for example was a STH benefit that we have to run and manage without any functionality that links it to who has a season ticket. We would probably offer more benefits if we could use its lottery features, along with the push notifications to communicate it to STH’s phones. Running STH through Shopify forces us to manage the program (pick-ups) with spreadsheets instead of a system with controls.
