    Happy hump day advocates..!

Drinking an abbey beer from ALDI, which is made in collaboration with a northern French brewery. Interesting, not bad and cheap too:

    Yesterday
    • Hope your wife recovers ASAP @HoppingMadMonk . Teddy is also doing all he can.
    • Congratulations on your #5000 unique beer @ovaltine !!!!! Don't think I'll hit that mark unless I spend a few more decades at this.
    Today
    • @Todd Thanks for fixing the dual threads.
    • Cellar review post linked here, comparing this exactly 25 month old can vs. my 2018 fresh draft experience at the Revolution Brewpub. Enjoyed both, 2018 fresh draft the winner. Will crack open a 2024 once I finally pick up to set a baseline for future year(s).

Thinking of my Paternal Grandmother during the overnight. My Father was the only person I met from his side of the family, due to Cuba locking down on New Years Day 1959, followed by decades of United States and Cuba policy. Sara and her husband fled Asturias, Spain during WWII.

[IMG] This is the 3rd annual release. Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 9/17/24. Pours a very attractive clean and clear bright orange with a finger plus sticky white head that leaves some nice thick streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.75 Gorgeous beer.

Aroma biscuity grain, caramel, toffee, and hints of brown sugar. 4

Taste follows a little earthy biscuit, caramel, toffee, and little hint of brown sugar, excellent balance. 4.25

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, plenty of life, not dry or sticky, and at 5.5% it may drink a tad bigger, but very nice drinkability. 4.25

Overal a very good beer for a great cause. This beer over the last 3 years has helped Lend A Helping Can raise nearly $40,000 so far. People that are into a maltier beer will truly enjoy this one. 4.25

Well, here's another beauty from @beergoot . I've seen this brewery posted here, and thankful I've gotten a chance to try them.

From a 16oz can. I can not see a date on the can.
This is a clear golden pouring beer. I was not expecting the clarity, but pleased by it. There's a mice steady stream of tiny carbonation bubbles rising in the glass to produce a 2 finger white head. The head is a frothy and creamy looking white. Great head retention, and sticky, clingy lacing on the glass.
Aroma is lighter than expected. I get some dank earthy notes and notes of pine.
Taste - There's a dankness to this beer and it's more of an earthy dankness than a "herbal" dank. Very earthy and pine flavored. Good hit of bitterness on the backside.
This beer is smooth and a bit sticky feeling. Great fullness.
This is damn delicious! Pleasure to try.

Have a few of them in stock as well. Will try them soon. And yes, well, we know the story, Heineken bought them and will ruin them on the long run, but was not bad last time I tried,

In the mean time a decent pour:

From a 12oz can. No date on the can.

This beer looks pink while pouring. Very murky looking. There's a 2 finger white head that has decent retention. There's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is quite pleasing. Very full of berries. The aroma is not artificial, and they must be using real berries in this beer.
The flavor is quite good. There's just a full on berry flavor. There's a sweet element to it as well as tart. Like the nose, this is real berries, and not artificial flavoring used.
The body does feel a bit light. This beer does have a bit of a bubbly feeling.
Damn, I was scared of this beer, and waited a while to try it. It is good.
