    Good morning.
There are no styles of beer that I don't drink.
There are some that I prefer.
And that of Blanche (historic Belgian style based on wheat) is not one of my favorite styles.
A prime example is Blanche de Namur, for its ease of availability and for characteristics adhering to tradition.
With the advent of modern times, many breweries have attempted to "liven up" this rather flat style (a bit dull) with additions that have given a sort of brushstrokes of taste on a rather anonymous canvas.
Even if no one here will know them (by necessity), I want to name the FLEUR SOPHRONIA by Birrificio MC77 (Blanche with Hibiscus flowers) and the HABIBI by the beer firm Resaka (with the addition of lemon peel and organic citrons).
But for several years now, the one that in my personal opinion is the Blanche (Italian and otherwise) that gives me the most satisfaction when drinking is the

Birrificio di Cagliari (Sardegna, ITA) - FIGU MORISCA - Blanche with prickly pear and bitter orange peel (5,2%)

It immediately releases floral and sweet fruit aromas.
When poured it is a slightly hazy blond/orange color.
Abundant but soft foam and medium/light structure.
Light body in the mouth, characterized by medium carbonation, very smooth.
In the mouth the taste of prickly pear gives fruity notes, which tend to form a sweet halo, which is contrasted by a citrusy hint, more bitter that balances the general taste and brings the drink to a soft finish and a light cereal aftertaste.
The nuance that this use of prickly pear gives it, almost reminds me of the sensation of prickly pear seeds in the mouth, it gives it in addition to a fruity taste also wilder nuances, not funky or red, just wild.
There is also a more sour citrus, which contributes to the overall balance that is perfectly centered, in my opinion.
It would be easier to explain it while drinking it, but I still wanted to convey the particularity that the wise use of local fruits of the earth has given to this beer.
I struggle to find a "best beer in my opinion" on each style, but this time I want to confirm that for many years now, this has been my favorite Blanche.
    And it still is.

Morning Jack, thanks for starting us off today.
I also don’t really like Blanche / witbier but if I’m offered one or if the only option then why not.

    Maredsous Tripel… cheers!

[IMG] Poured into a 13 Teku glass not sure when it was canned, says Fall 2024. Pours nearly pitch black with a 2 finger sticky mocha head that leaves a thick wall of lace with amazing retention. 5

Aroma peanut butter, coffee grounds, vanilla beans, and cocoa. 4.5

Taste follows peanut butter, coffee, vanilla, and cocoa. 4.5

Mouthfeel is a little above average, soft gentle carbonation almost creamy, maybe a tad dry, and at 8.6% a good amount of tasty flavor, but extremely approachable. 4.5

Overall this is exactly what you would expect. Very well made and extremely tasty. 4.5 Cheers all

Good day BAs! Thanks @Jack_14 for opening the bar today, and for your usual excellent review - makes me think I missed a LOT of good beer traveling through Italy!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Bourbon Barrel Aged Treaty from Vista Brewing up the road in Driftwood, TX. OK but not great.

(A bit of a summation) Final impression and summation: 3.5 Overall, a bit thin for the style and the initial bitterness may be a bit much, but as it breathes and warms, it smooths out a bit.

It’s been a rather semi-productive day, home chores and emptying/recycling the beer bottles (what a task.. and my reputation in this neighborhood is about finished, sigh), also got my new health insurance card, which unfortunately is all too helpful these days to the point the pharmacist has become an acquaintance.

Leffe Triple to end the day on a fine note:

Couldn't find any other stouts in stock so Guinness will do. Actually, it's nice to have a stout that's not barrel aged and adulterated with all kinds of other nonsense.
